A new trial date has been set is all atm, nothing suggests anyone will get away with anything or that he's guilty of anything either.

Thankfully BST, we don't have to play them next season.

Why would we bother offering him a trial, if this is the quality of player we're looking at I'm ripping up my season ticket, bloody shite Bramhall!!!!!

Did they go down? I was so disillusioned by the end of the season I'd stopped caring.

you wouldn't believe who he has just signed.

JUDGED him on last seasons form so no need to take him "on trial"

Seems he’s already been found guilty by some. Innocent until proved guilty

If he's ever found guilty, seemingly.

Throwback to Rigo coming on here and lecturing us all on what a “great guy” Joey Barton is.

I think he'll avoid a custodial sentence. As I said a while ago, the game changer was the knowledge that it wasn't a headbutt, it was a push in the back.

I think that will make a big difference to the outcome.

It's a shame. He never seems to learn does he? Wayne Rooney, Tony Adams did learn. But despite his ability to speak well and his ability to reflect whilst doing so, his inability to control his temper is going to catch up with him sooner or later. No job. No wife. No prospects. I wonder if it's a different side of the same football coin that afflicted Gazza....

I don't remember Wayne Rooney ever jabbing a cigarette in someone's eye?

Barton is just a thug, an angry man who can't help but be a scumbag. I wouldn't say his problems are really the same as Tony Adams or Gazza, who admitted having a serious drink problem.

Bob , I read his autobiography about a year before his alleged attack on our Daniel Stendel .

Joey comes from a violent background and didn't start from the greatest place in life .

The thing is he was fortunate enough to be blessed with enough footballing talent to leave that background behind .

Despite his rap sheet he isn't an unintelligent person by any means .

Someone from his background and dare I say intelligence had the platform to be a role model for younger people and do something positive to change many young people's lives .

Instead he chooses violence as his way of dealing with any adversity he faces .

He's learned absolutely nothing on the journey he's undertaken as a young footballer .

He may as well have stayed in Huyton and not found fame and fortune for all it's done for him as a human being .

Maybe a two year stretch wouldn't be the worst outcome for Joey .

He deserves it .

Just drink driving that he got caught for, how many times do you think he got away with it before he got caught?

Lets not forget either as well the young lass who's house he was driving back to while his wife was pregnant with his 4th kid.

The arrogance is blinding.

I'm not under any illusion that Rooney is a saint, he's not, but I don't think Barton belongs in the same category as him or the others Bob mentioned. Barton has a criminal track record over a long period, violence is always at the heart of it as well.

Aye well you do the lefty lawyer angle all you want but Joey's violent history isn't circumstantial evidence .

There's a timeline and it's the same old same old .

If it walks like a duck , quacks like a duck then guess what ?

It's a duck .

I don't think "innocent until proven guilty" is a 'lefty lawyer angle' when it kind of underpins the rule of law in our country.

Yes he's a Kitson and yes he's probably guilty and deserves time, but you can't just decide that - otherwise they could just sling anyone they thought was a bit shady in prison. Or just decide they were and do it anyway.

He could be in real trouble if he is found guilty and the three strikes rule could come in to play!

If it was the Sheffield Wednesday manager (whoever it happened to be that week) that he had allegedly filled in would you be demanding vengeance so vociferously?

Stop being so bloody tribal and give the law a chance. if it finds him guilty then he's guilty, if it finds him not guilty remember it doesn't mean he's innocent it just means it hasn't been proven beyond reasonable doubt.
