Rugby League World Cup

I see that Australia and New Zealand have pulled out of the RL World Cup....

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/rugby-league/57925720

They've asked organisers if it can be rescheduled for 2022.

That is terrible when you think the Australia rugby union team are coming over later this year.  Now that is totally farcical

This is an absolutely ridiculous decision. I suspect that this has been made by the powerful NRL clubs who are already opposed to their players playing for Australia and New Zealand.

I hope our thinly stretched budget wasn't banking on the income from this tournament.

I cannot understand why any overseas team or visitors would want to come to plague island at the moment.

Plague island?

It’s got absolutely nothing to do with the infection rate in the UK. It’s more to do with the catastrophic vaccine roll out in Oz AND the power of the NRL clubs.

Maybe not UK but I see that they are not boycotting the Olympics in Japan

It would have been meaningless without the two finalists taking part.

I wonder how or if this will affect our financial situation?
