I only saw the highlights of the Harrogate game, but those who watched it on iFollow said Gardner was Rovers' best player.

I wonder if since-1969 knows where the money for this suddenly appeared from.

He was best of a bad bunch in the first half against Blades as well

Nope. One of the 2 CM roles or one of the players either side the striker.

I haven’t seen enough of Hiwula to judge but I look at our side when fit and the one thing I don’t see is any real pace anywhere aside from Taylor.

You can't just ignore the fact that they're actual professionals just to suit your agenda, you do realise that don't you?

lol, my agenda?, and what is that exactly,  please enlighten me? I'm basically  highlighting the fact that we are top heavy with youngsters that even as short a time period ago as the start of last season, wouldn't have even made the bench.  if that's some sort of agenda, then guilty as  charged..

Thought he had a quiet game against Harrogate after not really getting a kick against Sheff United, Looks to have size and physicality that the rest of our midfield lack so he ticks that box. Good enough for a squad player who may get some as and when games but i'm hoping one of the two mentioned loanees to arrive can fill the gap until we can either reset at the end of the year or Bostock makes a Lazarus type return to the type of player we all want him to be and RW can restructure his midfield accordingly.

Come on Donny,

There are quite a few on there that wouldn't make Chesterfield's starting 11.

But a quality signing all the same, after Tommy Rowe that is

I would think he can fit that role well, some have judged him hastily in my opinion, he’s a good sized unit with a good pass and reads the game well….not blessed with pace but looks a tackler….
My son watched the Harrogate game at Harrogate and said that he hoped that we signed Gardner for the physical playmaker role ……

We have, let’s hope it’s a great signing….

The new CB is apparently the fastest player in league 1.

I was also at the Harrogate game and also agree that he was our best player. Got a bit a bit of luck for his goal as it took a deflection but his pass for Knoyle's goal was exquisite. He played on the left side of a midfield 3 and based on that game pleased we sighned him over Louis Reed.

Pace from a centre half might help us recover at the back but it’s not going to trouble the opposition’s defence.

The only thing I was responding to was that we have only 13 non Academy players at the club, we don't we have a fair few more. It doesn't matter if you don't like youngsters being given opportunities, the current squad size is a fact.
