Just a few things from yesterday....

- Arguably one of the worst sets of officials you are likely to see! There was an incident in the second half where play was literally 2 yards in front of the linesman and he didn't have a clue whose throwing it was.

- The free kick which lead to their first goal was not a free kick. It was one of those challenges that makes you think, if that's a free kick, then every bit of contact in the game needs to be considered a foul.

- Dodoo and the new CB are not the answer to the problem, unfortunately. Wyke didn't have to do much at all and the new lad at CB worried by him. Dodoo did nothing apart from win the corner in the last minute.

- Matt Smith is too lightweight. Can't believe he's a CM.

- Vilca is a Peruvian Kyle Bennett.

I feel for Wellens and Hunt tbh, can see what they're trying to do and implement, but the squad has 5 at the most League 1 standard players - and this is coming from someone who was very disappointed in Wellens' appointment.

Genuinely don't know where the next points, let alone win, are coming from.

I agree with most you have said.

Your end bit though?

You can't take yesterday's game thinking we will go into the next one the same.

Yesterday we obviously went with try and stiffle and frustrate then hopefully get a point or attack when can.

But Wellens was telling us all this, basically until everyone is back just try and fight for points rather than play our way we hope to play later.

So therefore we would have set up totally different to a game when all are back.

When they are back and match fit I can see us winning for sure, enough to stay up this year and a bit more, then kick on next year. All hands to the deck for this year though to get out of it.

We are missing Anderson, John, Fej & Taylor. Getting these guys back will improve us but it’s not a step change in quality remember Fej, John and Anderson played a lot in the team that lost its heart last season.

It’s said in another thread we need mid table form now to stay up. We’re probably a mid table team when those lads get back. But that assumes we don’t have any more injuries

The thinking that when we get everyone back we’ll win plenty of games needs reviewing. Adds to the feeling of sleepwalking into L2

4 good players coming back is big for us, yet 4 from last year wouldn't help a slide if they all played OK because its a team game.

The quality of the team at the moment is not good enough, yet with these 4 match fit and playing added to what we have got, I think we have a mid table team. Add ons in Jan and we should be fine. Fibgers crossed we get some stability this year and maybe something to have a go at next year.

We don’t really need mid table form to stay up, we’ve played 6 games. We are 3 points from safety. We need mid table form to finish mid table, however I agree with your point in that we are missing some key players and need to find some results reasonably quickly.

Seriously? The referee was awful. Pedantic. Booked at least one of our players at the bidding of the Wigan players. Conjured up a non-free kick for their first goal.

I hope he enjoyed his first game.

How also can it be said that 2 players aren't the answer and they have only just arrived and also are no where near match fit.

It astonishes me that people throw out these comments when it is clear why.

it was the linesman giving most of the free kicks as he had a better view than the ref, yes he made a couple of bad calls but wyke tried to fool the ref time and time again and he didn't fall for it
