RIP John. Was the brilliant Boycie in Only fools. Helped make that show, a true national treasure.

I just heard it on a news article.
Boycie was one of the great stand out characters in OF&H.

Back in the 80s, Only Fools was a really special show.

I didn't like it so much when it became the serial BAFTA winner, overly sentimentalised, obvious big gags, falling through the bar, the chandelier.

I liked it when Dell was flogging knock off stuff at Shepherds Bush market, Rodders was still at college and Grandad was at home in the flat. Boycee was a great supporting part, his cigar smoking second hand car salesman was just right.

Mawleene! Who'd have thought that would become a catchphrase?

He was also in Citizen Smith but I can't place him in that unless it was just a one episode part
Loved him in OFaH

Just looked it up Raven - he played Chief Inspector Humphreys and on the back of that performance
John Sullivan told John Challis he liked his performance so much he would find another part for him. This led to him being cast as Boycie in "Only Fools and Horses".
