Rollins and Thanoj (both key players for bufc) have been stuck on by the fa for being in breach of betting regulations. Rollins banned from playing for 5 months thanoj for one month .

I think i can remember Thanoj being linked with something similar years ago when he played for Alfreton. It is naive though to believe that players in professional football aren't betting regularly given how easy it is these days. Vices are hard to avoid for many.

One was clearly betting more than the other, hence the disparity in bans. What isn’t clear from the fa report is if they were betting on matched they had a direct influence on. It makes no mention either if they were profitable in any way, ie was the betting corrupt?

I don't get the issue on players betting as long as it's not on your own team or who you are playing

Conflict of interest I suppose.footballers have mates throughout the pyramid. It would not take much to set up a syndicate to fix games or influence them in your favour.
