Where is he? Injured or joined Bogle's Boys?

Injured his foot, wellens said he will be back next week after having a scan and the injury not being as bad as he first thought.

The games he’s played in midfield he’s looked like a decent squad player but when he’s been played as a false 9 or the left winger he’s been no good.

Was pretty clear watching pre season games he and Barlow were nowhere near good enough. Speaks volumes of the budget.

When you say “ speaks volumes of the budget” are you agreeing that the budget was spread so thin that we couldn’t afford the better players due to financial constraints, so had to opt for bargain basement players within the budget in order to have enough players to start the season?

That's exactly what I'm saying yes.

So how do we get the benefactors to increase the budget, from were im sat everyone has done what they could with the resources available....
Perhaps the club can not afford ambition?

This is the one I can never quite get an answer to. It's always something along the lines of "more than what we have now".

…… and even if we did, how much would it cost to even stay in The Championship.

It can't be answered? how much have Sunderland, Ipswich and others previously spent  - and that is the clubs point:
a) we can't afford to keep up with the jones's
b) it guarantees nowt

Another view on that question would be, if we spend as much as we are currently, we will not be in the league for much longer. :boxing:

Obviously the club wants league 2 football
Rebuild from the bottom, find our level and come back
Hope I’m wrong but .........
These are difficult times and we don’t have the money or incentive to throw good money after bad

Why oh why would a club want to get relegated????
We have a nucleus of players on longer contracts so unless there are relegation clauses will still be on the same money
The overheads of the ground won’t change
What will change is income less home fans certainly less away fans
Income from the EFL will also be reduced
Sorry your argument doesn’t fly

Initially the crowd may be a bit lower, however the psychology of the situation is that we should be deemed as a “ big club”  in league2,
which brings its own positives….
We may win big, we may outplay and out pass lesser teams, and we might get on a great roll which should encourage floating supporters to come back…..

However , being beat week in week out , can not be a good advertisement to get folks through the turnstiles…..I reckon we would sell more season tickets for league2 based upon the expectancy alone…( might need clever marketing strategy)
