It will be interesting to see how Charlton perform with a different manager and the same players, before January

Did his lad ever do anything in the game? Was at Rovers a few years ago

I know we'd still have the same piss poor squad, but I would get Adkins in over Wellens tomorrow. I know it was a few years ago, but look what he achieved at Scunny. Bags more experience and success at this level.

I was wondering how long it would be before someone posted this. Considering he talked to his friend about leaving us to take up the postion at Hull, I would expect the same level of commitment from him, should he get a few good games under his belt and the vultures start circling with an offer elsewhere.

If he was so great - why he has just been sacked by Charlton....?

Adkins is terrible. He’s completely lost the plot as well.

He's achieved nothing of note for some time now.  Football changes sometimes managers don't with it (mourinho, Steve Bruce etc).

Would agree. Even Charlton fans said on his appointment he'd been out of the game too long so they were proven right.

Arguably a better squad than ours so steer well clear.

The worse thing is that he probably couldn’t of done much worse than what Butler & Wellens have done anyway.

Adkins is yesterday’s man.
He is definitely the past and not the future imo.

Would be a terrible appointment for us. Anyway RW is i hope not going anywhere. We need managerial stability more than anything right now.

That’s why we are where we are, 4 managers in the last 3 & half years.
Give RW time. Even if we did go down i would let him rebuild this squad.
We need another few transfer Windows to get this squad as he will want it.

He is like Keith Hill. Done well at one club. Got talked up. Now he is rubbish.

If he can’t do anything at Charlton with their higher gates and budget why would he excel here?

I seem to recall Adkins doing well with Southampton as well as with Scunny.
