Consecutive League Away defeats from start of season
« on October 29, 2021, 08:39:40 pm by Dutch Uncle »
Our disastrous away from has seen us lose our first 7 away matches on the bounce. But this is not a club record.

The last time we lost the first 7 away league matches was 1982-83

Before that we have to go back to 1929-30 when we lost the first 10 away matches

The club record is 1904-05 when we lost every single away match all season - 17 matches in all (Division 2 had 18 teams that season)

The good news out of all that is that in 1929-30 we actually finished in 14th place of 22 teams.

Makes it a bit of a psychological issue for the home team too though. We will win away at some point and teams will be hoping it is not them.

Absolutely right CDH, we have been the victims of this sort of situation so many times.

Just seen on the Charlton match thread the traffic problems you have been experiencing - you are a true fan sir   :scarf:

Hi DU. I haven't gone today so can't take your compliment, although appreciated. I absolutely hate London with a passion and will not attend games anywhere within the M25.

The traffic problems i was referring to were when i attend home games trying to get to Donny from the midlands, there always seems to be an issue on the M1 or M18 causing annoying diversions all the time.

Traffic is a permanent problem in that area.
When we went to the play off game at Charlton, our bus had allowed something like six and a half hours to get there and we got in the ground ten minutes before kick off.
