I still say we could call this off ourselves without any risk of heavy punishment. The EFL set their own precedent when they gave Bolton a lenient slap on the wrist for exactly the same thing.

Any lawyer would take them apart if they tried to inflict a severe penalty on any club doing the same as Bolton.

Freezing cold night, no transport. I'm afraid it's iFollow for me on Tuesday.
Come on SS you can walk it’s only 4/5 miles from Scawsby.  Are you telling me it’s not worth walking that distance in the freezing cold and wet to watch our team.

Shame on you.  ;)     :headbang:  :) :) :)

Spot on, Camps. The sad thing is that I actually do that regularly in normal circumstances, even when we're not doing well; but this team at the moment, well I'm sorry, but I just can't raise the enthusiasm to suffer the above mentioned.
SS has been doing that walk from town for years it might be only 3 or 4 miles going but coming back it's twice as long 1 forward 2 back hic

It would be madness to go ahead with this game, with Storm Barra forecast.

Putting people at risk travelling out on a night like this, and the liklihood of any football in these winds is zero.
Call it off early to prevent Oxford setting off, please do not wait until the last minute.

Good call Albie - let’s get it postponed til after the Jan window, and hopefully with some decent recruitment we might be able to give them a game

I’d pick you up SS but the help the aged lot would be up in arms making you go to the KMS
Seriously though the argument that Bolton put forward is the exact situation we are currently in

You always run the risk of missing our team blow the opposition away. ( no pun intended )

Oh just woke up. Must have been dreaming.

He would have to go on the roof, do not think he will fit in the boot, as normally have grandson with me. Driving a 2 seater SLK.
Due to school he will not be going on Tuesday as late finishing. So I would have been able to pick him up, but it just happens i am getting a lift on Tuesday.

Latest injury update, if we go ahead despite the weather;
https://www.doncasterfreepress.co.uk/sport/football/doncaster-rovers-injury-update-as-caretaker-boss-hints-at-surprise-inclusions-against-oxford-united-3484480

Ruin the pitch if we play after 7 hours of heavy rain.

What will probably happen tomorrow given the wet conditions and gale force winds is that Oxford will use this to their advantage and pile balls into the area which we are comical at defending at the best of times.

In addition, Dahlberg will probably start the game when he is absolutely useless at coming for and dealing with crosses anyway.

At the other end we'll try to pass the ball through the eye of a needle to create something for Hiwula / Dodoo etc instead of doing the same thing and flinging crosses in at every opportunity.

Who could the “surprise inclusion” be? Williams is the only one not mentioned I think.

I’m not sure you are serious Albie, but have you ever studied how accurate weather forecasts are? If we took them to be reliable we would still be playing catch-up in June! In any case, football is a winter sport and they never postponed matches in the old days when pitches were awful with no undersoil heating.

Completely serious, Forsolonga.

The playing conditions are an important factor. No justification for risking injuries on an unsuitable surface.

That's not all though.
Travel in storm force winds, which could damage power lines or bring down trees, is a problem emergency services could do without.

I agree that it would not be seen the same in the old days, but that was then, and this is now.
Nothing in the modern game is like it was in the olden days.

It’s forecast 20 mph winds. Never been a storm. Based on that we’d never leave the house!!

50mph winds in Donny tomorrow. That’s breezy.

Think you need to change your forecaster.

Met office all the way.

When the Met says it will be minus 5 and a snowstorm, the Beeb will be predicting a heatwave.

I’m struggling not to read this bold claim in the voice of Alan Partridge!

Could be a great opportunity tonight to make up some ground on those above us.

Gillingham are at Rotherham so you'd expect them to lose there. Although they did get a draw recently at Hillsborough.

Morecambe at Sunderland. Surely no chance there?

Fleetwood at home to Bolton. Maybe a draw?

Shrewsbury at Wigan tomorrow. Difficult.

Tonight, a win for us could put us right back in the mix and a win is vital.

Steady on CDH lol
That set of results would be brilliant especially with Shrewsbury on Saturday

A huge loss in the realms of 5-0 , Oxford will want to stamp their authority all over this game, and probably will !

Then again it might be 1-1

I think we could have our strongest squad out for quite some time, although getting any sort of positive result is going to be difficult against Oxford.
