Gary Mac, Isn’t the manager I wanted but I will support him as I only want the club to do well.
I think he has done a reasonable job so far, as the confidence was shot before he started. Sunderland as much as I hoped for a result, we were down to bare bones. The young players will have learnt the standards needed to be a pro at this level. It will only improve them.

McSheffrey has organised them pretty well, he could only work with what he had.
We obviously need a left back, centre half, defensive midfielder minimum. With at least a striker coming in, an experienced goalkeeper and a creative, mobile midfielder/winger.

To allow that loans have to go back to clubs, some who aren’t working out in our permanents loaned out and our young kids who are quite ready going out. We need a bit of a shuffling of the pack and a lot of work to get the cohesion in a short space of time. I think we can do it with hard work.

Rumours that Stockton is going to Preston, so not in the squad.

Ft at morcambe.
Sat is a six pointer. And marks the half way point in games played.
Rovers have to at least double their ppg from here on in.

Morecambe's Adam Phillips subbed with an injury. One of their better players.

Hopefully, that and a demoralising home defeat to Crewe helps our chances.

just stumbled upon a very worrying certain fact on this link

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/league-one/top-scorers

this Morecambe striker Cole Stockton has single handedly scored as many league goals 13 as have the entire Rovers team. We have also 13 league goals

MM, someone on here suggested that Stockton missed their last game because he is on the brink of a move to Preston.
If that is the case will he miss the game against us for the same reason.

Robinson's confirmed that Stockton and McCalmont, who both missed the Crewe game, will probably start against us.

That's probably their best 2 players. I don't feel confident at all for Sunday.

Assuming no other players are fit and available, this looks like the least worst starting XI

Jones

Knoyle
Olowu
Blythe
Horton

Galbraith
Smith
Rowe

Hiwula
Bogle
Dodoo.

Might be enough to grind out a result.

I'd go with that team too although we'd be lacking in defence but there's nothing we can do about that with the players available. Trouble for us is we aren't going to outscore teams so the defence needs to be very solid but we're so inexperienced

Think there will be plenty of street parking. New ground is quite near to the old ground Christie Park which I went to when we played them in the conference.

The team above as BST says is the least worst team the only thing is GMC in his pre match discussion with Liam said

McSheffrey said young centre half Ben Blythe - who started Monday’s defeat to Sunderland - is an option to deputise for Anderson but there are others too.

“Maybe Ben, maybe not. There’s options there.

“I thought he did all right the other day but when you dissect the game there’s a couple of goals he could have done better for.

“He’ll learn from that.

So we will see who he decides to pick

The only alternatives at centre half are:

- Move Tommy Rowe (our most experienced player) back as temporary cover and put another of the young lads in midfield.

- Give Bobby Faulkner (our least experienced player) his league debut.

- Play Kyle Knoyle there, but he’s not really very physical and we don’t have another right back although Hasani can fill in.

Make no mistake, this is a really hard game with the options we currently have available but there’s nothing we can do about that. We simply must try to strengthen before Saturday.

Midfield doesn't look too bad with Galbraith back, Smith's improving game on game and as for Tommy Rowe can't believe Wellens signed him to play left back

If I was picking the team, it would look something like

Jones

Hassani
Knoyle
Olowu
Horton

Smith
Galbraith
Rowe (deep lying)

Barlow
Bogle
Dodoo

Hiwula has been really poor for a number of weeks, Blythe in my opinion is just not ready for this level yet. I like Barlow, he carried the ball forward well at times and I think knoyle had his best ever 45 minutes the last time he dropped in to the CB position.

Tough game ahead, be another hard one to watch, but what do we really expect with the team we have to string together. Hopefully a draw minimum, maybe some how we pull off a little surprise.

He did, but McSheffrey has said he will be ok for Morecambe.
