There was a minute's silence in the US Congress today for the law enforcement officers who were killed in the coup attempt on this day last year.2 Republican Congress members attended.America is going into a very, very dark place.
What happened last year was disgusting but I truely believe Biden and his lot are not doing a great job and in the USA Trump still has a lot of support Biden and the democrats are afraid of him and this is driving their actions
Syd, why didn’t you ask bst in reply number two, why America is going into a very dark place and in what way.
Looking at the results of the last US election - without the Covid crisis I'd have to say Trump would have had a better than evens chance of a second term. The next 3 years are very important for the Democrats and US politics as if things go badly particularly economically and Trump stands again he will be favourite to win (perversely of course favourite to win the election NOT the popular vote).
But I can engage on the forum. You asked Phil a question then I asked you one. That how we go about things in the UK.Now will you answer my question?

I try not to look at American politics these days. Because, frankly, the Republican Party scares the living bejaysus out of me.They've just announced a policy stance that the attempted coup last year was "a legitimate political discourse."Just absorb that thought. Violent insurrection, intended to scare Congress into cancelling Biden's election and keeping Trump in power is "legitimate political discourse."Someone mentioned Gabriel Gatehouse's podcast The Coming Storm a few days back. It truly is a chilling study of how far into fascism the Republican party has slid.
I mean isn't that them stating they've done a pretty poor job? It's their job to verify the company's financial records at the point in time not years and years later.

It's their job to verify the company's financial records at the point in time not years and years later. The value of the properties isn't in the company records, though. They're supposed to be based on independent valuations which are the responsibility of the company to be undertaken, so the accountants had to accept what Trump's companies told them. The properties were deliberately overvalued when used to borrow from banks, and deliberately undervalued on tax returns. Usually at the same time.
