I'd like to say at least he tried..... But I'm not sure he always did.  Potentially one of the worst signings we've had in a very long time.

As useless as he was, I can’t imagine we’d let him go without a replacement ready so fingers crossed for some good news soon!

We stand by with baited breath to see if they’ve been worth waiting for.

Right up there with Harry Worley as the most inept loan signing, though don’t recall doubting Worley’s heart or effort, just his basic ability.

I wish the lad no malice. He was thrust into men's football without many of the tools to cope with it. Plus playing more games than was ever expected on top of his own physical problems. Let's also acknowledge, there wasn't much here for him to be inspired by and learn from.

I very much doubt he will ever reach the standards required of a pro footballer in the English Leagues and will be very surprised if he gets another loan spell.

He was one of the best signings we’ve ever made …………..hang on before anyone starts typing insults towards me, the one goal he scored well bundled in was in the 79th minute vs MK Dons and it helped me win that bet I posted about at the time. So in my eyes he was a great signing

May turn out to be a really good player but he has a lot to learn and wasn’t ready for the pace/physicality of League One. Don’t think it was intended for him to have played as much as he did but it then questions why have a player (from another club) that is only going to have cameos.
Wish him well but that is the best news I’ve heard from the club since late December

He was dealt a bad hand here with regard to his fitness and arriving 2 stone overweight and we definitely haven't helped him. But my word, he didn't even try to make the best of his time here. He did not give a single shit, head was never in the game, never looked fit, never made the runs required of a pro footballer, barely won a header, never offered anything. Has a seat at the table when discussing our worst ever loan signings, surely.

My sentiments exactly DBR, there's no point in any malice towards the lad, he came, he saw, he never conquered any part of of his game whilst playing for us.

For me, he needs to up his fitness levels a lot, he is a big lad, and he showed (although not many times) if he gets his body in front of defenders, he could hold them off, he's a strong lad, he just didn't apply that strength to his advantage often enough.
One of his biggest failings for me was that when he lost the ball to a defender, he let them run away from him without making any effort to chase them down.
Anyway, that's in the past now, I wish the lad the best of luck in the English game, but unless he changes his desire to make things happen for himself on the pitch, he's gonna need it.

Well that’s one less body for the bench, with the squad we’ve got it does mean an opening for another youth team player.

Would struggle at conference north standard on what I saw. Makes you wonder though how we ended up with such an inexperienced 18 sixth former leading our line… less said the better, eh?

I get where he was seen as a prospect as he did well against Man City under 12s but couldn’t transfer that to the mens game.
That said we would have been better giving one of our own youngsters more game time once it became clear that he wasn’t going to cut it.

I would think he was atrocious if he didn't do well against Man City U12's  :silly:
Seriously, things have not worked out at all with his loan with us,but as DBR says,we should wonder how much was our coaching/backroom/physio staff's or wellens etc's fault.

Had ample opportunity to get into shape. Never seemed interested. Needs a major shift in attitude and application if he’s going to be successful in England. Depressing to watch.

Only four players have scored a winning goal for us in the league this season - and two of them (Vilca and Cukur) have left. As it stands only Rowe and Olowu have scored a winning goal. A left back and a centre back.

By Wellens or by Graham Younger and the club? I think Wellens has to shoulder his share for the likes of Ro-Shaun Williams and Jordy Hiwula, both of whom he made clear were players he’d tracked. But the TiM and the club need to share responsibility for others. It’s too easy to blame Wellens for everything. He worked with what he had, including the list of prospective targets and the finance. I think Cukur, Vilca and Dhalberg were very much in the bracket of options presented to Wellens that were financially viable.

The thing about Ro-Shaun Williams and Jordy Hiwula is that we have them on the books for another year at least - and if we want rid, then we may end up looking at a Bogle situation again.

Younger actually went on record as having recommended Vilca because  he’d ‘seen him on a video’!

Surprised we didn't end up with Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee.
