I can't remember exactly what I did now but the answer yesterday was LAGER and I think I played:

I'd got that "A" sound in my head so I just didn't consider lager.

But a 5 is a win (I always say)

I ll use same start Word till it comes up and then used to try to get a 2 , or a 3 as some kind of "greater" success

Since then I try to play quicker and today as many times lately I used a "grey" letter tactically in Row 3 just to position the rest

As long as I get 5 Green in or before Row 6 I'm happy

When I was on nights at DRI I worked with a bloke called Alf, great bloke he was, Steve McQueen lookalike, had carnal knowledge of half the nurses at the hospital (not me I hasten to add) the female ones.
But all that is beside the point.
When it was quiet, he’d spend hours doing these bloody word searches.
What a pointless, useless excercise. Used to take the piss, but he never wavered.

Getting stuck with how a word sounds is really annoying. One of the answers  this week only connect was 4different sounding words but all ending in ough.  Rough Bough etc

Yes , I remember once having  SU*AR and in my head thinking Shoo ... ar

When I got to G I pronounced it Shoogar and carried on looking. Think I had to go back a few times until penny dropped.
