Horton let’s not forget has been thrown in before he was ready ,because of necessity . He badly needs an experienced specialist who can learn him the role. Personally I think his future is in front of the left back in a left midfield/wing role. For a young kid just thrown in he has done pretty well. Managed to get on the score sheet as well.

No disrespect but Horton shouldn’t be anywhere near a league one starting 11. No doubt he cares and has some heart, but the fact is he isn’t good enough to play at this level

It wasn’t long ago we used to get behind our young local lads, players like nelthorpe, fairhurst, Middleton, none of them were good enough but we protected them supported them.
Now, Jones Horton et al just get abuse

Who is abusing Horton?!

We are 9 points adrift, if we are going to get out of this there is little margin for error, so pointing out our obvious weakness and hoping for it to be improved is not the end of the world.

Having the opinion that Horton isn’t good enough yet, is not abuse. There is no need to exaggerate things to make a point.

He’s getting abused all over social media as is jones. And there are posts on here that if the young lads read them, it wouldn’t do their confidence any good

Yes, it's the Facebook 'Netto FC' attention seekers that seem to revel in labelling everything and everyone as 'sh*te'. Was good to see Hoden shooting down the unfair criticism of Jones in his recent Q&A vlog.

Of all the young lads in recent years, Jones is the one who looks most likely to have a long career in him. He’s not very vocal or spectacular but look at home many other clubs have a 23 year old as their first choice. He’s learning but has cleary improved significantly over the last 12 months.

Absolutely.  Jones isn't at Neil sullivan level but we have had far worse keepers (woods, etheridge and for me Jones is also no worse than Balcombe, Bursik or Dahlberg).  For some reason some idiots want these youngsters to fail.  Having watched Jones closely in a recent game I was surprised how vocal he was.

On the whole on the topic the signings have had a strong effect they appear stronger characters and of better ability than those they have replaced.

I think with the young lads having come through the academy it’s assumed they’re from Netto.

Likewise the signings, on a ‘free’ or on loan, are greeted with public derision and calls of ‘Netto FC’ and ‘joke of a club.’ Same with the appointment of the manager. Normally followed by a token ‘will back them 100% though.’

Of course that fits with being right behind the team.
