Rumoured that they are going to get a special government interest free £20m grant to pay hmrc therefore allowing a takeover to happen. Where was this for the other clubs who have fell foul and gone out of business?

Is that grant or an interest free loan.
Grant is what I’ve heard but not seen anything official

Just asking because in general you don’t have to pay back a government grant so it can’t be an interest free grant.

Fair enough, I wasn’t aware, if it is a repayable loan with the stipulation that it and all lenders are paid before they can spend on transfers to stop them going out of business fair enough although it’s still galling but if it’s a grant then I hope every other club in the country fights it.

I wasn’t correcting you DVR, I was just wondering what the deal was.
If it is a grant then it is beyond belief.
I wonder how it can be justified.
What will the EFLs feelings on this when other clubs haven’t had such preferential treatment.

It’s a disgrace if true. We all have to pay our bills, if Derby haven’t they should be treated like other clubs. Where does it end if this is true?, every struggling club will want the same.

The EFL have given them another month to prove they can finish the season

BBC Breakfast did a feature on them yesterday morning, focussing on fan reaction to their current predicament but never once asking why they are in their current predicament.
They finished by saying that DCFC can’t be allowed to fold.

It'll probably get extended, so that the EFL don't have to make a tough decision and they'll give them to the end of the season to prove whether they can make it to the end of the season.

It is about time that one of the "big" clubs got shut down as Bury FC were. If they can't pay the bills put in for a winding up order and they can play in the Eastern counties league and rebuild as Wimbledon FC did.

How many extensions did Bury get before they imploded?
