Blogs / Vlogs / Books
« on February 07, 2022, 02:43:06 pm by ColinDouglasHandshake »
Hopefully i can pick the brains of some of you regarding information about blogs and vlogs on the net.

Can blogs make money and how?

I've read loads of blogs and some are really interesting but i still can't work out how someone is able to make money out of someone like me for example just reading a blog online?

I watch some vlogs too but not many as i find them annoying for the most part. I got introduced to some DRFC vlogs like someone called Dapper 18 and also Aron Challoner i think it is but i have to admit i find them a bit cringy. Then you look at the number of times these vlogs have been viewed and they have about 200 views. So they've gone to all that effort making their vlogs and disrupting their day for just a few hundred people to bother watching.

I don't think i'd do a vlog because i find a lot of them a bit narcissistic tbh and i value my own privacy also but a blog i'd be interested in doing. If it is worthwhile.

Also book writing. Has anyone on here written a book? Self publishing these days on platforms like Amazon is easy, however i've read that most authors are lucky to sell a handful which is a surprise.

Anyway, just some info or stories / experiences would be welcomed and helpful to me. Thanks.

I have a mate who has written a book.

You need to get an agent interested to sell it to the publishers who can really promote it. He's having difficulty getting an agent interested.

Thanks RD.

How has his sales gone or has he not been able to find a publisher yet?

Has he not self published?

Cheers.

Regarding vlogs happened to come across a couple of tweets on twitter, it seems there are factions on either side with those two vloggers that appears from the outside looking in to be getting a bit nasty, what is it with our idiots? That they seem to have to pull everything down?

I don't know who the vloggers are but obviously they are well known and widely recognised by many fans. I didn't realize that they were getting stick though.
