I also should have said I had an affinity with Wakefield Trinity as they had a superbly named Ground ... err Belle Vue was it or is it ?
What's a typical attendance Tyke?BobG
Played Union all my life and for years in the army, but just to old these days. Big fan of league mind, its become a totally different sport with some amazing athletes taking part. Been to watch Castleford a few times and always had a good time

Any fellow Rugby League lovers on here ?
Dave Varey.... Always liked Dave Varey. And who was that big, good ex Hull (might have been KR) player who ended up at Tattersfield in the late 70s/early 80s? He could hardly move but he put it about a lot as a kind of rush forward!
Thank you Steve. That's the guy. Tough lad he was. A lot of tough lads in those sides back then. I always wondered how Stewart Piper fitted in...Later: just found this. Lot of memories here:https://www.drfc-vsc.co.uk/index.php?topic=251034.0And a few names to remember. For me George Pflaster and Alan Lowndes.BobG
Alan Lowndes was a friend of mine, a former Thorne Grammar School colleague. He died a few years ago too.
