Was reading this write up about Scunthorpe United's relegation out of football league:https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/61033835... and I could be reading into Rover's future! This paragraph got me the most:"Whilst some fans are angered by the current state of the club and this situation, many almost seem numb to it now and were resigned to their fate a long time before the dreaded 'R' was placed next to their name on the league table."When will this club wake up? We're sleep walking out of the whole football league like Scunny!

I know the senior members of the Supporters Trust, at Scunthorpe, very well, in fact I gave the some help in setting up the trust originally. We have met often and they occasionally seek my advice on certain issues and on occasion.I can tell you that the two clubs are polar opposites in the way they are run, the desire and the approach are completely at odds with each other. Peter Swann has been a disastrous owner and just about everything he has done has been about him. The planning applications that have gone wrong, the separation of the assets from the club itself all scream of poor and malicious management. To compare our club with Scunthorpe is at best misguided, at worst its a vicious assault on owners who have always done what they thought was best for DRFC. Yes results have been bad for 18 months or so, but that's not a reason to support that kind of comparison.
I'm sick of hearing about how well run the club is by Bramall/Blunt/Baldwin.We never hear about which of the three actually makes all these dreadful decisions which have directly led to our second completely avoidable relegation in less than 10 years.Butler was thrown under the bus, as was McSheffrey. Both bad appointments of people not ready for the role. Other managers have clearly not been given the resources to actually compete, and when they have it has been spent largely on dross.I can count the few players who show any desire or care for the club's fortunes on one hand when I watch a game. It's a complete travesty and nothing suggests those in charge will sort it, because most of these problems were glaringly obvious a year ago.

Countless transfer windows mucked up, managers leaving with ease and we have this shambles this season.Stop defending the club, its pathetic

This thread is about the comparison between Scunthorpe Utd and DRFC, and one that I have much more knowledge of than just about anybody who's decided to comment.

I hope they won't come out with something similar to what Lee Turnbull did at Scunny over the weekend.
Looking at the squad of players we will own next season, of the adjectives that come to mind, “strong” is not one that many would immediately attribute.
