To have played for rovers in your opinion?. They did a bit more than just merely play. The entertained and took the p..s.
Strangest story to come out of current or ex players?.
Relations you have or have had that played for rovers?.

Did you play for rovers, or professionally for any other club?.
Stories from then or from relatives about playing or outside the game.

Tim Ryan.

More recently Malik Wilks and John Marquis.

In terms of a different type of character, Rob Jones. Dragged that 2012/13 promotion winning team over the line he did.

Agree with JJ Price and Patterson - two of my faves.

I also liked Billy Painter, was always mucking about and connecting with fans. Loved his chicken celebration, and I remember him celebrating wildly with a rovers lottery winner on the pitch one year! And of course his prayer / assist for that legendary Copps goal.

Billy Sharp was a quieter off the field persona, but his connection with the fans on the pitch and his celebrations when he scored were incredible, especially loved winding the oppo fans up!

Tim Ryan, Gary Brabin were real cult heroes as was Colin Douglas maybe to a slightly less extent and Colin Cramb to a certain extent.
Patterson was not one to me really.

Colin Sutherland & Billy Whitehurst were total nut cases and were big characters.

Rob Jones the best leader we have had in the last 47 years, my time watching Rovers.
Billy Bremner was the biggest cult hero as a manager.
He was the biggest influence on me becoming an avid Rovers fan.  He will always be my No 1 football hero.

Albert was a character, used to catch the train from Sheffield and the bus to the racecourse for Saturday home games,

As a teenager watching in the 90's I'd have to say Brabin, used to love his column in the Star too.

A few years after, Jamie Paterson always seemed to have a good bit of "shithouse" about himself.

I'm not sure you get as many these days - not through any fault of their own maybe but players are overly coached in academies from the age of 8 and sometimes have to be wary of social media off the pitch to be as carefree as others we've seen over the years.

Colin Sutherland and Paul Quinn.

To all intents and purposes, the same player.

Really?  Sutherland was a thug, Quinn was tough but was a far better footballer.  Don’t see the comparison myself.

Yes he was a big character. Helped make Douggie the player he was. Great player to learn from.
Proper old fashioned centre forward.

Albert was a character, used to catch the train from Sheffield and the bus to the racecourse for Saturday home games,
I remember Alick and Albert waiting for the service bus at the stop opposite Belle Vue after a cold and dark Friday night match. They’d managed to elude the autograph hunters however I spotted them making their escape for The Flying Childers. Alick signed a beautiful signature in my book and passed my pen and book to Albert when I got into the light it was just a scribble, what a disappointment.

Slightly off topic but how slim did Rob Jones look at the Legends game - like a racing snake

Apologies back on topic Little and Warboys were brilliant at giving the Snodins time and space (and defending them, not that Ian ever needed help)

Alan Warboys ‘second time around’.

Think he played just about every position in Bremner’s teams, in fact Bremner was once quoted as saying “I wish I had 11 Alan Warboys”.

Competed for every ball, could spot a pass & was immense as a ‘proper’ centre forward.

Andy Rhodes back in the late 80's. I remember him walking in to the dressing room and he commanded immediate respect. The other players loved him and the fans did too.

And what about the time he walked into the dressing room laughing and smiling after a defeat and wanting to know the Barnsley score, didn’t someone pin him up against the wall
