eurovision

Who put money on Ukraine as soon as war broke out?

Apparently the UK entry this year ain't bad, the lad has a very good voice. I'm not sure the Europeans are prepared to forgive us yet.

Ukraine nailed on.

As usual I will not switch on until the voting, to see how European politics are going.

Two years after ABBA won.

The German entry has been blatantly stolen!
It sounds incredibly like something, just can't put my finger on what it is.

I heard a snippet of the Ukranian song yesterday and part of it reminded me of the Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons song, Beggin (put your loving hands out baby).

I don’t know if it is intended to be in there but if not it sounds very familiar.

Christ THIS is how much Europe hates us. We are going to go down in history as the country that won Eurovision when Ukraine were supposed to win.

We’ve been voted the best song finishing second to Ukraine is acceptable

Well that's a win really coming second to Ukraine.

Another result that Putin will see as an act of aggression by the West.

Thought Spains number was a winner Though.

Well at least we now won’t be the most hated country in Europe now.
Maybe we got votes because of the amount of backing from UK to the Ukraine war effort.
Or, because we had a decent song.

Saw the snippets for voting - think some would have been worth watching but with the sound off such as Spain

I was only really half watching it (from Iceland onwards) but is it true that they didn't show the Ukraine act during the re-cap bit during the voting? Wonder why that was?

I also thought that it was interesting the UK jury were one of the few not to give any points to Ukraine. 'Music Industry Professionals' = miserable gits.

Honestly… who would assume that a country would be represented at ‘Song Contest’ when their country was being invaded and their countrymen /woman were being slaughter raped . We are all sitting back watching TVs with disbelief!!

Maybe Ukrainians want to try to be as normal as possible and also put two fingers up to any Russians watching Eurovision on TV.

I thought it was for European countries.

The one year, in recent years, we’ve had a half decent song and it gets beat by the popular vote to a country at war.

They're paid up members of the EBU which I assume gives them the right to enter. The first time was for an anniversary because they love it down there.
