Used to love our battles with Stockport when I first started watching Rovers - congratulations on getting their league place back

Remember them in the championship guessing 20 years ago ?  didn't realise before today they had managed somehow to skilfully lose 4 out the last 7 league matches   they must have caught the same
"imploding virus" (COVAC 20)   Rotherham - Wigan & Forest Green  all caught

Simple away game on the train next season. Hour 10 no changes and a 5 minute walk I believe from the station

Only trouble is it's part of that sh*thole known as Manchester.

Took them a while to get back to where they started, not easy in non league. They are a threat up at the top this season again.

Weaver watches City a lot I think.

Anyone really pleased for Stockport. Used to love going, especially on a Friday evening. I recall the FA Cup game as well, think Alun Armstrong scored after we took the lead.

Big Kevin Francis, remember him well!

Think this was 1996.
Went one up then lost 2-1.
Cold and rainy as I recall.

Evening match at Edgeley Park.
Ian Snodin scored if I remember correctly.  :)

The highlight of the road trip to Stockport was stopping at traffic lights on a crossroads in some Pennines village, where a local photographer had a shop and, filling an entire window, was a picture of a very rangy lady sat cross-legged and naked.
Unfortunately, it was a view from behind, but still very racy for 20 year old me!!

This was FA Cup 1st round on 16 November 1996. Colin Cramb scored early in second half to put us 1-0 up, but two goals from Mike Flynn and then Andy Mutch sent us to defeat. All those three goals came in a crazy six minute period.

The Colin Cramb goal is typical of him, he seemed to have that extra second on the ball

As a kid in the seventies in my head we used to have 5-2 score lines at home against Stockport. Don’t know if we ever actually did
