Rakish Bingham number 9

After scoring for fun last season and realising his potential do you think we could see him back at the eco power next season?

That would depend on whether we sign a good number nine for next season.

He was actually improving before he left us. I'm sure many recall that goal at Bristol Rovers.

Not a clue what he's done in the meantime but if he's been a regular goalscorer, he could be worth a shout although not sure whether he's a leader of the line we need.

He’s been playing for Ebbsfleet FC in the National League South. Admittedly closer to our level these days but still, not a great standard and his 12 in 30 last season for them doesn’t look outstanding given the level.

I don't get the fascination there seems to be on this forum for re-signing players. The amount of threads like this vs the amount that do re-sign and do well are miles apart.

Surely in a couple of years time we'll not see a thread started clamouring for Dodoo, Hiwula or Cukur to return.

It might be that people on here might just want players like that to keep us in Div Two around mid table

Did he ever score a goal for us?

Its not that long ago .......so forgettable

so put me down as a NO

sorry but again where is the no on the list?

It’s on for not this season but possibly in the future. If he carries in playing the way he is and hits 25 + next season then why should we rule him out just because you can’t possibly see that he has improved

Well let me tell you he hasn’t improved and I say that having watched his latest 90 minutes at Dorking in the Conference south playoff final this afternoon. I will acknowledge he scored the opening goal in a one on one with the keeper to open the scoring but offered little else. Needlessly gave the ball away on several occasions, failed to take two other good opportunities that came his way and slowly drifted out of the game before eventually being hooked towards the end of full time.

Bingham has found his level at sixth tier status and that was readily apparent today. Rovers have to be setting the bar much higher.

Ice cold finish. Ruthless something we lacked this season. Can’t really complain at him when he has done his job and bag in a big game

It was a big game in the sixth tier of the pyramid against part time opponents. Ebbsfleet are still full time. The discussion surrounds his ability to produce the goods against full time opponents further up the pyramid. If, as you suggest, he's now reached that level it would have been expected of him to make more of the opportunities that came his way this afternoon and then maybe he wouldn't have ended up on the losing side.

He's no better than when he played for Rovers two years ago and he'll be 29 this year so it's hardly likely his best years are ahead of him.

How ambitious are Dorking Wanderers ?   we have had Sutton & Crawley  make the league jump.

It seems another Dorking ( nickname "the Chicks" after Dorking chickens ) team merged with them in 2017  (shows ambition)  which made me thaink of Bradford City's old name "The Bantams"

is a Dorking chicken their mascot ?
better get on my bike I think  :chair:

Did well today to score the opener for Ebbsfleet away at Chesterfield, in an excellent 2-2 draw. Chesterfield 23 points clear at the top of the National League, Ebbsfleet in the drop zone.
