Betfair just tracks the Asian markets. Generally bots auto matching bets. If a price moves from 9/4 to 10/11 that means a lot of money needs to be hoovered up. Nothing really to see here apart from the initial prices being massively wrong and the market thinking we are rubbish. As simple as that.

It's worth knowing that Betfair Exchange isn't a bookmaker. It's a 'Facilitator' that enables one person to bet against another and they take a commission from the winner.
Betfair Sportsbook is a traditional Bookie.

I have had a Betfair exchange account for years. I use it for match betting purposes to lay bets. I know how it works. Exchange or not. There is money being lumped on Stockport to win. My use of the term bookie was misplaced, granted.

What made you think I was talking to you?
It was a piece of info I posted for anyone who didn't know.
I also use it 98% of the time to lay red hot favourites.
2% I use it to back horses that are ridiculously long odds. I have never won  one of those bets lol.

I didn't know that. Thanks for the info.
Would those be the same Asian markets that have a rule that says if a game is abandoned after 30 mins or more, the result stands?
The same Asian markets that were implicated when there was a floodlight failure at a Premier League game at half time (Crystal Palace?) which led to big bets being landed inAsia?
If we are 1 down after 31 mins, get ready for a lights out scenario lol

I’ve had a right lump Stockport at 11/5. Ridiculous opening price. I thought they go off about 5/4. May even be shorter.
ooops

Unless they lumped on a certain player getting sent off, for losing his marbles and lashing out!

Absolutely ridiculous odds. Yes hindsight is a wonderful thing, but we should never been 4/1 at one point. Went off at 7/2. Made a nice little drink on it.

Rovers went out to 4.7 before KO.  couldnt let that pass, so had a tenner on.
And chucked a fiver on a 2-1 Rovers win as well at 17.
Won over £120.
Makes a refreshing change!

Yep thanks to this thread I had a few quid on us at 7/2 and a couple on Miller to score first and us to win at 14/1. Happy days.

Rovers to win, both teams to score 7/1
Rovers to win, 3 or more goals in the match 6/1 ,I  had a couple of quid on each.

Funnily enough the big player who gave me that info had a ton on Rovers himself. Said the odds had moved to far and the value bet was us. Too bloody right and glad the Thais came unstuck!

It's happening again.

Rovers 9/4
Mansfield 5/4
Draw 9/4

Surely, given our form, 9/4 at home is hugely generous?

Why would we, a side who have won 3 out of 3 home league games and are unbeaten in the league be 2nd favourites at home to a side currently lower in the table than us?

Makes no sense.

Because the odds aren't based in win probability, Panda. They are based on how much money has been staked. Once again, someone is backing heavily against us.
