Anybody want...

...a straw to clutch at.

28 points after 20 matches is exactly what we had in 2007/08.

I couldn't figure out why the play was so slow and ponderous, then I remembered the starting line up? Ffs

It was slow and ponderous because non of the attacking players gave any movement, in the end the ball would be played to someone closely marked usually Biggins, then he was mugged a fair few times

Haha. Nice try to wean everyone off their well deserved misery. After circa 20 games in 2007/08 didn’t we then go and win something like 15 out of next 20? This lot could never get close to half of that.

If it is any consolation just imagine having to watch Gillingham every week.

Now they are what you call a club in decline.
Scored 6 goals in the league this season. Yes 6 goals in 20 games inc current one which they are losing 0-2 to Salford.

They seriously are in danger of the trap door this season.

Yes we are unbelievably inconsistent and when we are bad we are sometimes very bad, but at least we have seen what this team are capable of this season.
There is ability in this team it just needs DS to get them playing to their capabilities on a consistent basis.
Play the right 11 in their best positions would be a start.
Last night 90% of the blame has to fall on DS imo.

Worryingly 14 points from our first 6 fixtures; so 14 points from our last 14 matches. Relegation form - and we look like a relegation standard team.

In 07/08 we won 13 of the next 16 matches after this point. The 21st game was when Paul Green was finally included in the starting XI and added some pace and attacking intent to our technically gifted midfield.

I didn’t think we was actually that bad last night obviously until we got to the final third,Williams deffo needs dropping with his mistakes and now looks like olowu is back fit and although woukd like to see Rowe further forward to create thing I thought he also looked good with ball and also receiving it in space

And 26 games to go, 22 points needed for survival. They are pushing it close if things do not improve.

Camps, WE are a club in decline too.
We might be financially ok but from a first team football point of view we are in deep doodoo.
That in itself will affect the financial side of things as more people decide to stay away.

We are underperforming hound. But we have a team on paper which should be capable of top 7 in this league.
With 2/3 decent additions we would have a team that should capable of the top 3. ( although that ship looks as though it has sailed now )
Many may disagree with me inc yourself hound but we just need to perform consistently.
DS needs to find the best system to suit the players and get them believing in themselves.
We have shown what we are capable of this season but we need to show it consistently.
Square pegs in round holes doesn’t work and we had that on Friday. Does that ring any bells. It got us relegated in 2015/16

DS needs to stop tinkering and get this lot playing like they did at Grimsby.

First of all Camps, I don’t always disagree with you, we are on the same page in a lot of things.
The club seems to be on a merry go round.
Under performing manager gets the boot, new one comes in and expectations go up but when nothing much changes on the pitch.
Some fans suggest that the new manager needs ten games, then needs a transfer window, then needs a pre season.
After all that, still nothing much changes on the pitch and all the time we slide down the ladder.

Alright, this might just be one to follow.

In 07/08, we had 38 points after 24 games.

Without being insanely optimistic.................. we’re only 6 points off an automatic spot. This really is a poor division.

You are not being insanely optimistic.  You just never know.
As I have said on another thread, if Northampton have a wobble then that 3rd place is up for grabs.
