The ground is soft, one frost won’t make it solid, the difference with previous postponements was that we had a few days of frosts running up to match day

I'm usually gutted when Rovers gets called off but I'm a bit blasé about it after Tuesday. Can't put my nephew through another game in a week, he's not even been misbehaving.

It’ll toughen him up, he’ll be grateful for the experience of the pain and heartache in years to come lol!

The ground is also wet, depends on how the cold weather affects that.

I don't know why some people are wanting the game to be off, citing the reason as being that we're so crap just now that many people won't want to go.

We'll still be crap when the game's replayed, and there'll be even less wanting to go on a cold Tuesday night.

The weather bottoms out tomorrow, the rearranged match will be on a warmer evening, that will suit our cavalier, attacking possession based football!

We defiantly need the game to go ahead, it must be torture for the players and management sitting on the recent results, they need to get straight back on the horse and gallop away from the nasty ditch. For their own sakes as well as ours.

If there isn’t a positive reaction to Tuesday’s debacle tomorrow then we seriously have a problem.
We need to see that the players really are playing for this manager and are buying into his way of playing. If we create next to nothing again tomorrow then his way of playing with this group of players, in this league is 100% flawed.
That’s if we didn’t know it already.

Earlier I was all for Selby coming in as caretaker but the Beast now gets my vote. I like the cut of his jib. I’m ‘hearing what he’s saying’ and, more importantly, ‘’buying into it’. Total football starts in the next match.

Pitch inspection at 09:00 in the morning

They will make the decision then no matter what I would think due to the away fans travel distance if it had been a more local team the pitch would be given a longer chance to become playable

Perhaps lineker has side tracked into forecasting ? -9 seems a bit extreme.

Currently minus 4 at 6.20 am, but should be above freezing by the time of the pitch inspection and a high of 6 degrees by half time.

Not been outside, but looking through the window there is no frost on my car and just the faintest bit of white on the grass, can’t see the ground being hard at all, especially come mid afternoon

I looked at BBC forecast at 9.00 pm yesterday eve.

It showed -8 degrees YES -8 at 4,5 & 6 am this morning.
Met office showed -1 degree for same hours.
How can one be so different to the other.  Surely the BBC get their info from the Met Office don’t they?

Anyway got up at 7-30 this morning and not even a frost. No ice on car  windscreen either.

So I would assume the match should be on should it not?
Or is it arctic at the lakeside and tropical in Campsall.?

Just done a quick garden inspection, the areas in bright sunshine and nice and soft, areas in shade are frosty, not solid, but ancrispness to the grass. I'd be amazed if they didn't call it off..even tho it Will probably be fine by 3pm.

bbc changed to Meteogroup a few years ago. Not as reliable as Met Office. But having said that, none are consistently good. I need to know the weather for my job and have countless apps on my phone that are all drastically different. You just have to pick the bones out of it and take an average somewhere.

If I was a betting man I'd say game on, doesn't seem too bad outside and we've not exactly had a long cold spell.

Actually CR , no they get their info from the Meteo Group not The Met Office any more

Been doing that for 3 maybe 4 years

Should still be capable of being closer than a 7 degree spread

Just looked and it was Feb 2018

Govt made BBC put out tenders for it's weather info and Meteo Group won

Only 2 Tuesdays available if it is OFF
28th March & 25th April.

That’s assuming this Tues 14th March is discounted. Very rare any game is re arranged so soon.

Tues 21st March we have Crawley away.

One other Tuesday free is 4th April but as we play Gillingham away on the Friday 7th, so i would very much doubt that date would deem suitable.
We then play Grimsby at home on the following Easter Monday 10th so that rules out Tues 11th.

Tues 18th we are away at Stevenage.

So what I am saying is with a fairly congested end to the season as it stands every effort should be made to play today imo.

Another reason is we need to get back on the horse asap after the Harrogate debacle.
