Not bad for rovers, all things considered. No points for stags especially.

For Mansfield old man stephen quinn still hasn't learned and got sent off tonight for retaliation yet again and has a 3 match ban - a player of theirs who had been injured since they beat us 4-1 came on as a second half sub   and went off as he hasdn't recovered -

so that's a bonus for us .

it was good Stevenage won as they play Salford soon

just seen Mansfield are losing to Stockport on Saturday so we have a potential opening up of the Red Sea Moses style with a bit of luck if we win on Saturday.

march 31st Stockport v Salford helps us as well

I’m not even looking at the table or results tonight, fed up of having hope and then being churned out some of the displays we’ve seen.

If we go up, or even end up in the playoffs this season it proves league 2 is absolutely shocking.

Looking forward to ticking another ground off on Saturday though!

If we go on and get another 23/25 points from the last 11 games then maybe we are a good side. Or at least proved we are capable of being a good side.
Don’t really expect it to happen but nothing wrong in being optimistic. Yes i know it’s the hope that kills you.
The players have to believe though or what’s the point.  Win the next 2 games and it is all to play for.
We only have 3 teams to play who are above us in the table.

Salford game is massive. Lose and it’s all over bar the shouting I suspect but win and we are 3 behind them with a game in hand.
Mansfield are inconsistent as are Swindon and Sutton slipped up at home. 1st defeat for a while and are now catchable.
7th spot is up for grabs. It’s up to us to say we want it more than the others do.

I’d rather we went up properly and got a team that could hold their own in League 1 than scrape through and have a repeat of last season again.

I don’t think I’ll have to worry about that though.

Yes agree. Another season in League 1 although seemingly unpalatable would be beneficial.

Let’s go up in as a top 3 club next season. Preferably as Champions and get that record 8th title.  :)
Would be a record for 3rd & 4th tier combined.
It still riles me that Fergie’s team blew that title in 2016/17

Promotion via thé play offs has to be THE best way to go up. Financially & given our own history (albeit it all the sweeter for beating Leeds) it is an unforgettable experience for the fans & much needed revenue for the club to buy ´a squad’ capable of competing in lg1.

It can’t really be an aim for the season though with a 1 in 4 chance at the end of it.

Camps is right. We need to be bold next season and get a squad together to enable us to say “we are aiming for the title”.

We’ll probably be not top 7 in terms of finances with the clubs coming down / going up but the current top 3 show it’s not all about that.

I think the financial benefits of promotion would counter any concerns of not being able to manage. The gates alone would be worth it . ESP with some of the teams coming down from the champ.
It’s a no brainier surely. Take promotion if it’s there. We have no idea what next season promises.

You’re right the Budget is not the be all and end all.  I suspect none of the current top 3 have a top 5 possibly top 6 budget this season.
Look at Sutton and Barrow both also probably bottom 5 budget still fighting for a top 7 place.

Of the current top 3 Stevenage will be in the bottom 5 i suspect. Carlisle mid table. Leyton Orient 6th or 7th at a guess.
I don’ know any budgets of course just best estimate.

It’s all about the manager getting the best out of his squad. Budgets help but guarantee nothing.
You only need to look at how long Bradford City have spent in League 2

Regarding that 2nd paragraph, Camps, it would seem that Fatty's performing a minor miracle there.

That's what you expect from an experienced manager.
