From reading on here, I think the general consensus is that we need:- More leaders- A striker who can hold the ball up- More pace and energy throughout - Some creativity in attack - More steel and toughness- Full back(s) to stop crosses coming in- A capable and reassuring goalkeeper - Someone with good set piece delivery could also be useful. Is there anything I’ve missed I can add on? We can revisit this post with each summer signing and see how many boxes if any they tick.I don’t think Schofield will last long now as I can’t see us turning a corner this season. The owners will want to feel confidence that their money can be well spent. Coppinger hopefully can recognise the basics needed in this league because he didn’t do a good job of it last year.
If there is to be substantial funds, we need to invest it in, A better keeper, I don’t mind Mitchell, but if we’re going to progress, we need a better more dynamic keeper with less clangers in him.A right back, since knoyle left we struggled to prolong any attacks, we need a right back who out and out gets to the top of the pitch and puts crosses inX2 CM, a dynamic box to box and a creative attacker, ideally both with 100+ games at a good level. A winger who actually produces this season. There is hope Molyneux could come good with better players around him, but jury still out. A striker who can hold the bloody ball up, we will have lavery and miller on the books next season, we need a 30yo 6f5 striker as big as a house, someone who comes to mind is in the shape of smith at Salford. Then a smattering of loan players to fill the squad out. We need to remember we’re league 2 so we’re not going to be pulling the best talent back down here, not if we’re competing with Wrexham/north county.
