Thought I’d bump this rather than start a new post.

Along with Sheffield Wednesday, Hull City have been placed under a transfer embargo for 3 windows and cannot pay for a player until January 2027, this is due to a late payment of around £1m to a Premier League club.

If they can't even pay loan fees for Premier League player they are going to struggle this season.

That’s very interesting karldew. That’s got to really impact them & Wednesday this season.

I think it’s a very winnable tie. Progression on all fronts is important with the squad we have & I don’t ’buy into’ the theory that cup runs will impact on our league campaign UNLESS we’re suddenly swamped with injuries which given the conditioning of the squad I can’t foresee happening.

My bloomer ravenrover!

Forgot we’d drawn Middlesbrough in the cup, saw the OP & dived in not looking at the date of posting.

However, it did turn out to be a winnable tie!

Wednesday currently under 3 separate embargoes meaning they have to settle up with the players, the clubs they owe fees to, and the taxman before they can sign any new players. Some players still owed wages from May, never mind June.

2 big local teams being run into the ground, this independent regulator can't come soon enough.

This is why I recently said old threads should not be resurrected. It’s too confusing.

Maybe a general 'clubs in trouble' thread given Hull, Wednesday, Morecambe, Hartlepool...

Everybody makes mistakes, everybody, as the Dalek said climbing off the dustbin. But when someone  can't read what is in front of his eyes his misinterpretation is entirely his own responsibility. Anything other than that leads to dumbing down - which led John Simpson to remark of US tv news that it pandered to an "Alzheimer society". Without being challenged to actually observe and think, societies end up with cretins like Trump.

They should have sold TLT to us then instead of loan!

It might explain why they loaned out TLT and bought in a second string Rotherham Goalie, saving on wages.

Hartlepool have a chairman who was supposed to be resigning but sent a letter to all ST holders basically saying support me or I stop paying however he’s running it into the ground. Might add he was previously chairman at Darlington and had them in even more trouble. Think he owns Suits Direct.
Even Stelling can’t stand him

At present it will help hull, because they are not paying TLT’s wages but he will be held as asset in accounts. Will be interesting to see how things develop because the situation may change whereby receiving cash instead of asset may be preferred.
Terry will be expert in regards the financial situation, so will be interesting to see how things develop.

Could this mean they could potentially recall TLT in January and cash in if needs be? Or even before as I'm sure most loans if they have a recall can be recalled after 28 as long as in a transfer window

▪ Future commitments of nearly £22m in transfer fees
▪ Ex-owner owed close to £3m
▪ Some suppliers forced to pursue club for cash
▪ Uncertainty over future

Both Swfc and Hcfc certs for relegation, if not for liquidation. All their players will leave on frees.
