3-0 down after 21 mins. Absolutely pathetic.

Bet you enjoyed posting that.
Would you have posted if we were 3-0 up?  Don’t need you to answer that as we know the answer

Wouldn't have hooked Bailey personally. Midfield is weak as piss without him in there

Utterly disgraceful so far. Wood and Olowu have been dreadful.

Harrogate and this one. We’re a good footballing team seemingly but we need to scrap

Shambolic first half, like the lads are clueless. I understand why McCann didn’t make any changes from Tuesday (other than woods) but that’s 2nd league game in my opinion he has got the set up wrong.

Big improvement needed in 2nd half. Credit to Newport they have hustled the life out of us

I’m sure there would be some positive posts Campsall if we were 3-0 up, but we’re not

Not from him though.

Flabbergasted by this score line after that performance at Hull.
Very pleased I made the decision not to go today.

Help me out here, I’m tactically clueless….how do we overcome the fast, very effective press that Newport are employing? Is there a simple tactic?

Credit to Newport who look like scoring in every attack. Fast flowing with plenty of numbers and accurate forward passes. No short corners no needless passing, as their off the ball running is very good.
This 45 gives us a great opportunity to show character and fight…
And it’s only game 2….

Either go long and press them further up the pitch or step up the pace of moving the ball around quickly, preferably going wide to move them out of position.
Difficult to do if no one is on it to match them for pace and physically

Get Rowe on, and ditch the 4-4-2 to a 3-1-4-2

Think they're treating it like most of us do on an away day and started at Spoons at 9am this morning what a joke of a first half. Subs great but wrong ones for me. No idea how Broadbent has not been subbed in all 3 games.

Formations go out of the window when your players are caught in the headlights . We need a holding midfielder who can control the play and fill in the gaps . We’ve been all  too slow to get into the game and not matched Newport for pace or pressure. Playing out from the back when your under the constant pressure is pointless . Get the ball up the field to your forwards as quick as possible and playoff second balls in their third of the pitch !!

The worrying thing for me is that I thought Harrogate were sharper and quicker than us. They out hustled us for much of the game. The same is happening again - and as I typing we are 4-0 down against another mediocre team. It’s going to be a very tough season.

Just chill. It’s the second game ffs. Yeah, it’s not ideal buts it’s a new team. Give it some time

I’m not buying this ‘chill it’s only the 2nd game’ if we have ambitions of promotion then we can’t afford many more games serving up this kind of football.

We brought McCann in to hit the ground running

Not a dig at you in any way CC just a generalisation about it

Well chilled thanks. The problem we now have is that mansfield and notts county will have watched these two games on vid and will see how we crumble under a high press - we need to start working on a plan b tomorrow at 0800. If I was McCann I would get all their arses in and cancel Sunday.

We’re keeping up our new tradition of believing this is the season we break free . Butler Wellens McSheffrey ,Schofield  and Now McCann it’s pride we keep this going  :headbang:

Most teams at this stage are new teams, if we can’t take points off Harrogate and Newport in the first 2 games, it’s a long uphill battle ahead
