No doubt he'll get hammered by the authorities. He's absolutely right, of course. Referees may well be experts in the rules of the game but appear to have very little understanding of the game itself.

Unless the Refs start giving warnings first before they start giving out bookings it will make every game a shambles !

There was a prime example last night in the Forest game. Burnley keeper gets a yellow card for time wasting then not long after Burnley player takes an age with a throw in and......... nothing. Where is the consistency?

Yes, refs have an excellent knowledge of the LAWS of the game but when it comes to interpreting them is where it falls down.

It would be interesting if more footballers were to take up refereeing after they retire from playing, then they would find how difficult they made it for refs.

Personally I would like to see more supporters and retired players complete the ref course and give it a go, it ain't easy.

I am in total agreement with the new laws on questioning the refs decisions and time wasting.

The "warning" effectively was given when the new laws were introduced ie you will be given a yellow if you are deemed to be timewasting etc

I've even saying this for years. Ex pros are content to criticise when doing their cosy summaries in a TV studio but yet none of them seem to want to talk about a pathway where ex pros can put something back into the game. Of course they will need to be well rewarded to attract them into officiating.
