A lesson in going for it and not sitting back on a lead.

Can’t see the manager surviving now, shame as he’s a decent manager too unfortunately they’ve not invested in the team. Still a lot going on behind the scenes I believe

Definitely alot going on behind the scenes but, whatever the result, they're in the Premier League...for the second time in recent years....isn't that all that matters?

Many on here have said they'd love just one season in the Premier League, although, I suspect the journey would be more pleasurable, so being stuffed every week is a price worth paying?

We all know however, it's no where near a level financial playing field. Be careful which Saudi Prince you wish for.

It just illustrates the shocking horror of the Premier League wealth competition and the total absence of anyone giving a monkey’s where the money comes from. This is clearly nonsense now, as it’s been for many years.

Hecky is a good manager. But he has no chance whatsoever as things stand. Keep your best players and you’ve a slim chance of staying up. At best. Sell them and you’re doomed again. You can’t win cup ties against ‘big’ teams every week.

A team like Sheff U would be wise to continue building slowly, get used to defeats but play positively. Drop and hopefully back in the prem in a year or two.

Chasing the insane heights, dumping a good manager, getting in financial difficulty or blowing money to try and stay up is fools play.

Allegedly, Everton need a £1 billion loan, and they are saying it might not be enough.

Just bonkers.

:headbang:  The Premier league is insane now.

Clubs paying 35 million for ave players, some of them very average.
Would be interesting to see how many Premier league clubs have a healthy balance sheet.
If they were businesses in the commercial world would they be considered solvent.

Thought Sheff U looked good away at Spurs last week, but today a real shocker.

Transfer fees and salaries have risen, but then so has the cash they get from each TV deal. If these were rising when the TV cash was declining, then yes they would all be in a world of shit.

I watched the first 20 odd minutes. Had to go out just after Newcastle scored their first. Sheff Utd had a couple of good chances prior to that and we're the better side.

I was shocked at the final score.

It’s relative though because look at the fees in the championship.

All the promoted sides to the PL last year stayed up.

Who wants a competitive league when can have the oil money, I’ll take pleasure in that 8-0 drubbing the next time I put my last £80 into my fuel tank!
