Agreed sproty.  The guy who ran up behind Keith could have had a weapon or maybe acid.
Ridiculous that he was left exposed in the way he was.

Absolutely surely the leader of the opposition should have police protection?

Solid speech aswell. He's not box office but that's not a bad thing.

I've only just seen the glitter thing on video.

Starmer has a reputation for being dull, but his response was genius. "Protest or Power? That's why we changed our party."

Right to the core of the issue for the left of centre.

As smoothly delivered as if the whole thing was planned in advance.

The expression on Starmers face when the man grabbed him suggests that it wasn’t planned in advance though, unless he is a great drama actor.

Listen you. I'm sick to the back teeth of your idle "they're all the same" self indulgent b*llocks. So let me see if an individual story will get through to you.

14 years ago, my 2 year old son had a serious illness that could have led to a permanent disability.

We were lucky.

The Labour Government under Blair and Brown, the sort of Labour Govt that you and others of the so called Left can't bring yourselves to support, had been rebuilding the finances of the NHS, after the two decades of starving it under the Tories.

My son was seen by a specialist within a fortnight. Within 2 months, he had the routine operation needed to solve the problem.

Fast forward 14 years. His 18 month old cousin has exactly the same illness. His parents' GP has just told them that there's a 12 month waiting list to see a specialist, and advised them to go private.

That's what happens when so-called left wing people like you can't clear your heads and see the difference between a Labour and a Tory Govt.

Grow up.

Or even better, go explain your principles to my sister in law.

Yep. I didn't expect any reflection from you. It's YOUR left wing Govt or nothing isn't it?

It's not "guilt tripping". It's telling that that's how you interpret it. It's trying to get you to see the absolute stupidity of your stance.

What a strange logic you have tyke, you don't acknowledge that those you put in power have reduced the NHS to what it is now and you put that blame on a party in opposition doing it's best to overcome a massive majority to you helped create.

Go figure

Keep voting tory

" The Stupidity Of My Stance "

And yet you support the party that founded the NHS and are now receiving donations from Private Healthcare .

Your the party that went along with back door privatisation of the NHS during the last Labour government .

I don't bang the drum for them but your leader does , " Make Brexit Better " .

Ted Heath signed us up , Thatcher helped create the Single Market and Major endorsed The Maasterich Treaty .

Cameron and Osborne the architects of austerity were solid remainers during the referendum campaigning .

But I'm the Tory ?

Interesting theory Syd .

Isn't Starmer and his club planning to not tax wealthy people any more, effectively stick with Tory plans,  but organise it better, and do it with social awareness, sprinkled with glitter?

BST,  we know the Tories have made things worse but your anecdote points to nothing that will benefit your family with the sham socialist getting in power. He's sponsored by a bunch of people that want to shit on you. The evidence of how he will govern is there to see. There is no power for you in voting for what you don't want, nothing but affirming an orwellian system of "choice" similar to where the yanks have been for ever.

And yet the biggest political issue for you personally given your historical postings was leaving the union that was created for you , grown and endorsed for you by the very party you profess to dislike I even dare say hate .

The plight of those who were or still are victims to Thatcherism , neoliberalism and the crushing of trade unions doesn't even come close than your homage to the EU .

Even your very own leader doesn't want to rejoin the EU ...... Apparently and yet here you are preaching to me about having Tory credentials .

The truth of the matter probably exists along these lines , you probably did alright out of Thatcher , got on in the world but just didn't much like the players in the Tory  party that made that so .

Blair and now Keith have put that right for you , I mean your leader got a knighthood before he's even got in to Downing Street .

Your Shadow Chancellor is an ex Bank Of England employee and your Shadow Health Secretary likes donations from the private health providers and doesn't back nurses in their pursuit of a better standard of living .

All this runs fine by you because you spend all your life in the Tory closet and refuse to come out as openly neoliberal .

Your the 1950's queer .

Suds biggest issue is that having left the UK for a better life, he can’t fit in he must be one of the worst whinging Poms! He has been there 15 years and still insists on coming on here and interfering in our affairs, he needs to get a life!

Many of us have been away from Donny for much longer than that. I have to confess to having been back for 8 months, now safely and comfortably back in the SW to export my wisdom, as is Sid. Dunno about Suds - to be fair, that does sound like madness.

Hate to say I left Donny in 79 and have only been back to visit in laws and care for my Mum when she had Dementia. The only time now, the are all gone, is to watch Rovers i've had one night in Donny for my BiL 2nd batchelor night, think I'd rather visit Beirutt after that experience in Bowers Fold
