A bit worrying where I live at the moment 3 floodline calls throughout the night, the River Don is approaching its record high and we are about 600 yards from the river, with the Stainforth Keadby Canal between us and the River, so far we are OK but the River is still rising and the banks have over topped on Fishlake side

When I was a kid they used to dredge the Don, thats not happened in years, imagine how much more water the River could take if the River bed wasn’t silted up and the channel was deeper

Does Bentley still flood just past were the Don cinema used to be?
Raven, it's still there but just out of shot in this picture the bottom left. The railway line you see curving round to the left on the edge of this picture runs alongside the caravan site.

That will be why the water only floods Fishlake when these events occur. You should be ok.

Sproty.Excuse me for bursting the balloon of your badly focused ire, but flood defences on major rivers are not the responsibility of local councils or mayors.
