Who can remember Sulli poleaxing a Sunderland (I think) player quite early in an away game. I thought Sulli might get a red for it but instead he got the free kick, the young striker was carried off and substituted.

Pretty sure we got beat 3-0 and there was aggro in car park after the game.
If there was a red deserved last night it was for that awful foul by Hopper that put Senior out of the game. He made hisind up from ten yards away that he was going to hit Senior. There's something badly wrong with the laws of the game where that sort of assault gets the same penalty as a couple of little niggles by Rowe in the second half.
Thanks for the correction, guys. Mind, in my defence... Sunderland folk, Middlesbrough folk, you can't tell them apart.
... by Colchester KeeperWas a Yellow enough ? Was it a DOGSO , was it a dangerous challenge or bothOr even neither

At the very, very most generous assessment, it is a badly mistimed challenge. The ball is a good 3-4 yards away by the time he makes contact with Senior. Hopper chose to go into the challenge at pace and if you do that, you've lost the right to be given the benefit of the doubt if you get the timing wrong. Even if it wasn't pre-meditated, it was recklessly late and the result has put Senior out of the game. There are WAY too many challenges like that at this level. The intention is to intimidate the defender into rushing a clearance with the threat of them getting hurt if they try to be more measured. They are nasty and dangerous fouls and refs are copping out by not properly punishing them.

Reckless challenge = yellow card. Dangerous challenge = red card.

Put it another way. A law that calls that sort of challenge "Not Dangerous" and the one that Rowe got sent off for earlier this season "Dangerous" is really not fit for purpose.
I still think it's (very) reckless rather than dangerous. You can see from the still frames that he wasn't far off getting to the ball and his legs were moving in a normal running motion as he was going to make the block. Yes he was moving at speed which has to be considered but didn't move into a tackling shape or go in with a high foot. A strong yellow card and a word to say he's on very thin ice going forward would've been my call.
