Does this mean the end for Taylor?

I would be very surprised if he ever played again

Which “stats”? Certainly not his goals return at barrow. 0.37 goals per 90mins, which aligned with his xG exactly. That means his scoring rate was good and no indication it was a fluke or over performance.

His out of possession stuff is ok for his possession, he’ll at least be trying to win it back in the right areas as well.

His passing numbers are great, decent technician.

Doesn’t create enough for the position he plays weirdly given the fact he’s good on the ball.

“We want a striker that can play wide” that’s not him. If we’ve signed him under that remit (surely we can’t be that clueless) it’s not him. He needs to play as a No10 (attacking midfield freeish role). Don’t play him wide would be my advice.
Likely to play the deeper role/ point of the diamond that Ironside has dropped into recently I’d say.

Positional replacement for Marsh.

Wonder if we'll get some creativity this month...

Seem to remember him at barrow away and he never gave our defence chance to settle

Hard to tell whether this was on the cards prior to the news about Marsh, as McCann said he was looking for another in the forward line.  He said he was after probably two loans and possibly two permanent. So far, three loans and one permanent, with one loan ended, so not quite sure where that leaves us with his overall targets. I got the hunch, there was another potential permanent out there who might have options because GM said "We might have to wait a bit longer" That could still be on unless said target has gone elsewhere.

The sceptic in me wonders if there's someone leaving so McCann is preparing for that.

Looking at Waters, looks like he can sniff out goals of different types, having an instinct by getting himself in good positions. Maybe a bit Taylor like with energy and popping up with goals.

Looks like Wrexham took him on as an insurance policy to keep the goals flowing should they suffer injury.

Well, McCann hasn’t mucked about has he. Definitely no clue what's happening next!

GM suggested there'd be some outgoings as the squad is top heavy. Maybe for the other permanent signing coming in, two or three might have to go out.

Looks a little like our last Billy - in and around the box.

Halifax Town look set to lose their talisman striker Rob Harker, with the forward close to signing for Doncaster Rovers.
A nominal fee between the sides have been agreed. Two National League sides wanted his signature too, Southend United and Hartlepool.

Took of there X account.

Just putting it out there. Might be wrong, just saying what I saw that’s all. However my son mentioned this name to me 5 days ago.

It’s already on the Rumours section and has been for a few days, which is where it should be.

Not against the signing. I think it’s cleared up what our January strategy is - don’t try to do an overhaul, get a few lads in who will hopefully improve us until the end of the season then go from there.

It would take a hell of a run to get in the play-offs now, so perhaps it’s sensible to not blow a load of money trying to reach for something that isn’t very likely to happen.

It’s always frustrating having nothing to play for this early in the season, but hopefully this approach will mean we can have a better window in the summer.

Based on seeing him play a few tines before, he could do really well under Grants way (if he has the right players to do so) of playing.

3 upfront, high press, high energy..... that can create opportunities for others, not just looking at what he may score.

I’m fairly happy with this.. Good experience and apparently a good attitude. Just because it hasn’t worked out at Wrexham, doesn’t mean he’s useless.

Better record than Moly, who many on here rave about.

Also allows us to still clear the decks in the summer as it’s just a loan. Could quite easily see him doing well though and signing unlike most premier league kids who if they do well, are then out of our league.

I would have signed him just for his name - the obvious one to get our Mo-Jo working

I like this signing, he brings experience and something different

Waters sounds a good signing for this level and it’s not a Jan panic signing on a 3 year deal so it’s an improvement on previous seasons.

Is it confirmed Faal is staying now? Assume we must be done signing forwards if he is… still think we could get a bit of pace into the side if there’s room

Excellent signing - just what is needed for a successful run in without Miller.

Well done Grant once again.

And I love that he talks about " Being a part of something - Play Offs why not? " like Craig he's not here to pick a wage up - very encouraging.
