Another aspect that struck me was the way Grant took it . When you get a string of disappointing results and a loanee turns his back on you in such a way it takes a strength of character to react like our manager does .

I suspect GM’s version was watered down for the camera’s

Not sure why, but I’ve a feeling he may end up at Peterborough on a permanent deal, in replace of JCH.

A few flashes of brilliance but frustrating how often he lost the ball, teams had him sussed
Poor if he’s done this against the wishes of WBA

Strange that a young development footballer is would be allowed by his parent club to decide his own loan placements.  Surely more to this story than Grant has said.

Maybe his agent has been touting him out for a permo because WBA might have seen that he isn't and more than likely never will be prem/champ standard.

He was at their game yesterday so it looks likely

Shot his own career in the foot, can't hack being told what he needs to do, he will be found out wherever he goes now.

I don’t know anything but if he is going to Walsall, maybe he has things outside of football that he needs to be home for, or it is better for him to have his family around him.

And that im sure grant would understand, if he sat down with grant and explained all this prior then its no issues. But he stated after the peterborough game that he wanted to stay, then over a short time he just walks in to his office and says im off with no explanation.
Thats not a good look for him.

He will soon find out that supporters seldom forget.... If he has valid reasons then fair enough, but be up front and don't screw over the manager/supporters/club and expect it to be alright.

Whilst we speculate about a permanent move, do you think he is one we should have been pushing to sign?

Although, you would have thought if that was a possibility, his agent/WBA would be alerting us to that?

If he’s going to Walsall things just don't add up, we are told West Brom were happy for him to stay and were disappointed in his actions, then yesterday he was at the Walsall game. I just can’t see how his agent can hold so much say over a contracted player and decide where his next move is going to be, as I say things just don’t add up

Of course he might have gone to the Walsall game for other reasons, perhaps it is close to his home and one or two Walsall players are pals of his.
He might be joining them but we are guessing right now.

He will be replacing Draper at Walsall. They play two up top which will suit more than playing side for us.

It’s a three way agreement between us, Mo and WBA if the player decides he doesn’t want to be here then there’s nothing us or WBA can do. There appears to have a been a two week cooling off period and Mo with his agent have told us and WBA he wants to go elsewhere now it’s up to them to find
him another club in this window. It could be Walsall as Gaz says Draper as returned to his parent club.

Going on his recent performances, he decided in December he didn’t want to be here, and we all just assumed he had too much game time for a young lad, attitude stinks

I think that Faal (or most likely his agent) has heard McCann's comments in regards to having 6 attackers and rotation, and probably thought that this will cut his game time and end up being Ironsides back up.

Shame to see him go but hopefully McCann can maybe bring in a replacement.

He ambled about aimlessly too often for my liking. The past 6 games he was totally anonymous. No great loss in my opinion.

My dad sums him up well IMO. Like Bambi on ice with the ball at his feet.
I suspect travel has something to do with his decision . Best of luck Mo. And thanks for that headed goal at London Road . It certainly made the  freezing cold day out worthwhile

Well that certainly didn't take long. A bit sad from all sides really.

We play Walsall on 2 March away - could be interesting if he plays.

Still got to play Walsall at home as well.

It’s one of those things. Seems likely that location was a factor. It certainly sounds as if it could’ve been handled much better though.

Not sure if this has been mentioned but surely the change in system played a part as well? Faal looked the part when playing two up top with Ironside but his decline in form has coincided with him being shunted wider, a role which clearly didn’t really suit him.

I think this has been in the pipeline before he said he wanted out and WBA already had this lined up, despite what they said about being happy for him to stay here

I thought he was a decent player for us and with Ironside up top they had potential to be a handful. We should have been more direct imo to get the best out of them. Think we underused what should have been a good article force for the level.

Don’t get the issue people have here with him leaving though. What kind of loyalty can we really expect from a loan player. It’s bad enough with contracted players if they want out but loanees literally have no stake in the club other than putting themselves in a shop window.

He's gone now and got sorted somewhere else. Time to move on surely, he was only on loan after all.
