And that im sure grant would understand, if he sat down with grant and explained all this prior then its no issues. But he stated after the peterborough game that he wanted to stay, then over a short time he just walks in to his office and says im off with no explanation.
Thats not a good look for him.

If he’s going to Walsall things just don't add up, we are told West Brom were happy for him to stay and were disappointed in his actions, then yesterday he was at the Walsall game. I just can’t see how his agent can hold so much say over a contracted player and decide where his next move is going to be, as I say things just don’t add up

Of course he might have gone to the Walsall game for other reasons, perhaps it is close to his home and one or two Walsall players are pals of his.
He might be joining them but we are guessing right now.

Going on his recent performances, he decided in December he didn’t want to be here, and we all just assumed he had too much game time for a young lad, attitude stinks

I think that Faal (or most likely his agent) has heard McCann's comments in regards to having 6 attackers and rotation, and probably thought that this will cut his game time and end up being Ironsides back up.

Shame to see him go but hopefully McCann can maybe bring in a replacement.

It’s one of those things. Seems likely that location was a factor. It certainly sounds as if it could’ve been handled much better though.

Not sure if this has been mentioned but surely the change in system played a part as well? Faal looked the part when playing two up top with Ironside but his decline in form has coincided with him being shunted wider, a role which clearly didn’t really suit him.

I think this has been in the pipeline before he said he wanted out and WBA already had this lined up, despite what they said about being happy for him to stay here

I thought he was a decent player for us and with Ironside up top they had potential to be a handful. We should have been more direct imo to get the best out of them. Think we underused what should have been a good article force for the level.


Don’t get the issue people have here with him leaving though. What kind of loyalty can we really expect from a loan player. It’s bad enough with contracted players if they want out but loanees literally have no stake in the club other than putting themselves in a shop window.

He's gone now and got sorted somewhere else. Time to move on surely, he was only on loan after all.
