All good and well getting up at the crack of dawn to walk around the pitch. Pitch would have been fine by midday. Proper investigation from the FA required into this, seems like Bradford have tried to pull a fast one. I hope grant is taking this seriously
So why were the other league games called off then. It’s not as if Bradford was the only game off was it.

Bradford was the main one. Harrogate to tbf but their ground is pretty much like Rosso main’s so fair doo’s.
I would imagine they’ve seen our result against Wigan and they don’t fancy it. Happens all the time when the home side is on a slump. I would hope Grant is speaking to Gavin to get him to email the chiefs at the efl to get the issue looked into. It’s corruption

Hopefully, when we come to play the game, we will be in a better position with the players available, particularly with the new lads bedded in.

There seems to be a trend at the moment that knee-jerk decisions are made based on only a single piece of evidence, ignoring any other facts that may exist.
One example of this is the Bradford postponement. The pitch is unplayable due to being frozen now, therefore the game tomorrow can't go ahead. This ignores the fact that temperatures are expected to increase between 1pm today and 3pm tomorrow. There is a case to call games off early, especially when conditions aren't expected to improve and if they is a large distance to travel for away teams. Neither of these apply today.

I am really annoyed by some people in modern society making bad decisions, ultimately inconveniencing others because they are too stupid to see past the first fact that comes into their mind. :headbang:

I also see that Wimbledon V Crawley is postponed. Again, a short travel distance, so a much too hasty decision.

I played golf today and the ground was absolutely rock hard and a very deep frost; the pounds were also frozen over.

I’m sure the costs of the policing were also considered given how much presence there would have been.

I don’t get why some think there’s a conspiracy. Like it’s been said, understandable if it was just our game. But guess what, it wasn’t.
Conspiracygate. People really need to take a step back from getting so anxious and looking for reasons.
Here is a Reason- it’s been bloody cold and freezing.

The game wasnt given chance. If we had been playing say Gillingham 150 miles away fair comment it would have been the correct call but 40 miles up the road the pitch inspection should have been this morning 10.30 maybe 11/11.30 The bulk of Donny supporters wouldnt have set off. ( I know theres diehards that travel from all over I used to be one)  The other games in the area were given chance to be on, and lets be honest Bradford are a much bigger club than the others in the immediate area and have better facilities all round.
They didnt want to play it as there's a potentially very valuable (moneywise) cup game in a couple of weeks or so between the two teams  we can't have us/them knowing too much about each other, even though our new lads are by all accounts cup tied. My opinion it was deliberately not given chance. Just out of interest was it a local "non league" ref or a local Efl ref that called it

So why weren't all the games in the area called off the day before. Because they were given chance!

Don’t know maybe better forward planning from Bradford.
Regardless I had a very enjoyable day out at a zoo due to the early postponement

Those of  us wondering why Bradford announced the postponement of our game a full 24 hours before kick off, spare a thought for fans of Grimsby who were due to play Harrogate Town yesterday. Harrogate gave a short notice warning there was going to be a pitch inspection at 11.30, and the game off just before midday, by which time 770 Grimsby fans where either heading, or had arrived, in Harrogate. The main benefiteries were Harrogate Railway, who despite being just a 20 minute walk away, and 6 leagues below, announced after their own 11.30 pitch inspection the game was on, and via Harrogate Towns twitter page, cordially invited Grimsby fans to their game v Selby Town. Railways average attendance is 135, so yesterdays crowd of 371 was easily their best crowd of the season. To be fair, the pitch wasn't the carpet they play on a mile up the road, but we watched a good competitive game with the visitors winning 2-1.

We did see an elderly gentleman wearing a Donny hat at the game too, stood near the dug outs. Is that anyone on here?

It wasn’t me.
I was going to come and watch Town yesterday HR and do a bit of spying on Grimsby before we play them next month, until it was called off.

If it was an elderly gentleman, HR, I can only think of BB or Wolfie.

It’s good they gave the fans a bit of notice, these days safety is a higher consideration than it was in the past.

I sit near HR at home games and I'm sure he would have brought me a Bovril if it was me he'd seen. I think he misses my match analysis at away games and would have joined me if I'd been there. It's a bargain for the price of a Bovril.

It must have been Wolfie.

I can confirm it wasn't Mr Bullet, as this gentleman will have walked half way round the ground to that position, whereas BB would have been carried round in his sudan chair by his nurses. Meanwhile, I'm not saying BB is old, but he remembers them when they were Harrogate Locomotives.

They're not nurses, HR, they're family making sure they get all my inheritance before Keir Starmer pinches it!
