Really good experienced signing this. I remember him against us for Scunny a few years ago, he tore us apart. Welcome Hakeeb.

Why sign a right winger when we have Moly nailed on to play there and JT coming back? I think Grant may have him covering the central spot. Don’t really get the thinking regarding the balance of the squad at the minute.

Maybe he wants to give Moly as rest once in a while,or maybe he wants a different option in Moly's roll against opposition that he not really making headway against.

Hope he gets on better than last lad we signed who had played wide for Lincoln City in his career. Dany N'Guessan.

Bloke I know reckons he's on £4k a week at the Imps. He says you can see there's a player in there somewhere but very rarely shoes it. Hopefully McCann can get the best out of him.

6’3, so if nothing else will take our average height above 5’7 when attacking and defending set pieces.

I hope his step down in league is as rewarding for Rovers as Deji’s step down is for Boston. We deserve an upturn in the reward for loanees.
Welcome Hakeeb.

I always liked him at Scunthorpe. Strong, a bit of pace and a good shot on him. Let’s hope Grant can get the consistency out of him, he has the ability.

Can we really rely on JT to get/stay fit?! Harken can play anywhere across the front 3 and his versatility is probably one of the reasons grant moved for him when he caught wind he was available this window.

Personally I could maybe see Hurst dropping into a 10 position for us

Can he play in any of the front 3 positions? Possibly in the same way anyone with two legs can. Can he play them all affectively though? Certainly not.

Do you rate your judgement as better than Grant’s? Clearly you must do by making that statement.

Not really interested what the Lincoln fans say about him. I have seen Hakeeb with my own eyes on numerous occssions to believe he can add something positive to this squad. Whether he does or not is upto him and dropping down a league at 27 should highlight to him that he really does need to reignite his career and start to prove what he is capable of again. Its a very good experienced League One standard signing in my opinion and if we listened to what Lincoln say I could say I would never have thought the likes of Enda Stevens and Harry Toffolo would be good enough to play in the Premier League after watching them turn out for us.

CLH will be happy we’ve finally got a long thrower

Nice finish here too.

He is out of contract

I see Hakeem as a more realistic permanent because after listening to the Waters interview he likes to be at home and is Cheshire based it would seem.

Reading on the Imps forum he was playing as a central striker but is more of a winger.

Piece from Lincoln site....

https://staceywest.net/2024/01/22/the-story-ends-hakeeb-adelakun-leaves-on-loan/

Looks like his face didn't fit and he was played out of position - Lincoln don't like wingers.....
He is out of contract at the end of the season and might be a possible replacement for Jon Taylor...?

I would add that although he seems to get a bad press from Lincoln fans, he was good enough at the end of October against Charlton - when playing out of position.... and should probably have been played in for his hatrick also.

My lad’s Lincoln friend says he is a 10/10 one game and a 2/10 the next. In fairness that’s standard for this level. If he puts in 10/10 performances every couple of games I am sure we will all be happy enough

Replacing someone who has hardly been present is an interesting concept, but I take your point. We need the means to vary the attack across the full width of the pitch. I’d choose a comparison with Sims!

That’ll do for me StocksArmy. You can’t beat seeing a player with your own eyes rather than judging him on his xg’s & other ‘inside data knowledge’.

If you can see he can be of benefit to the group there happens to be at least one man who agrees with you, Grant McCaan.

Big strong powerful right winger, likes cutting inside... sounds like another Malik Wilkes type to me, hope so.

You don't seem to see that many wingers in the game as tall as 6 foot 3 do you?

Dead right MM - virtually a nailed on hat-trick if that ball had been played across to him.

"10/10 performances every couple of games"?

I think you're going to be disappointed.

As a Lincoln local who sees a few games every now and then, my experiences of him weren't great. I texted a couple of ST mates and responses were : -

Apologies in advance and lol

No lose really - he’s out of contract so basically in the shop window. Grant knows enough about him to know he’s worth a loan place. If he doesn’t play well he doesn’t get a shirt now we have a decent bench

He certainly can’t be worse than someone who isn’t ever fit to play
