Ticket Prices
« on February 11, 2024, 10:39:27 am by roversdude »
Just been reading that Rotherham fans were charged £45 to watch at Leeds. Apparently Leeds try to do a reciprocal deal with clubs, Huddersfield only paid £20 when they played there.
Surely there needs some sort of formal cap, football has progressed through the years based on the support of the working “man” but it’s getting to the point where people can’t afford to go.
We’ve had some strange prices for our away games this season so it’s not confined to the second tier

It was the same with Rotherham but they wouldn’t drop there normal pricing from £26 to £20 for the Leeds game at home so they left it at full price for the return visit which I think they did right too although £45 is way to dear to watch a league game full stop

One thing for sure Rovers would take up other teams offers like this. Sure of it.

Leeds though lost out yesterday. 3000 of their fans would have turned up at £20. Instead it looks like 400 did at £45.

Will work when Leeds play teams like Sheffield Wednesday who will still fill the away end at £45.

Appreciate Rotherham never lowered their prices but £26 compared to £45 is ridiculous but then again I guess they are Champions of Europe lol

As the shadow board we tried to set  up reciprocal deals in our division & NO team was interested in working with Donny.
I stand to be corrected, but I believe Carlisle were the last team to offer to work with us.

Really good that. Annoying it's Tuesday and about 10% chance of making it in time so not going.

Wonder if Stockport fans got to the bottom of why they only got so few tickets (not wanting to reopen the debate on how many fans they brought but it cost Rovers in missed revenue)

There were only around 600 millers at ER. Unsurprising given the ticket price

They got the tickets their club asked for, nothing to do with us

Exactly but we in turn missed out on revenue through Stockports incompetence

Maybe the Rovers would only release blocks of seats and they didn’t have enough to fill a block.
You would think that the Rovers would want to sell as many tickets as possible and that the away side would want as much of their support as possible. It certainly doesn’t make any sense.

With how things are in this disgraceful world, those 69 year olds will still be bringing a wage in, not a pension, if not now but in the near future. Twenty pound should allow you to watch near enough anybody play. Clubs at our level struggle, unlike the premier league. The gate money is still very important. Very short sighted though to bump up your prices for certain games. All it does is p.ss people off, they won’t go out of principle.

The printing costs are a major factor Dave plus the away club have to pay for all the tickets up front. Let’s say Stockport asked for 2,000 but only 1,500 bought them, they would have still paid for the 500 unused. Every club do it, not sure if it’s an EFL directive but seems daft to me

Cheers Martyn, I thought that I had heard something similar previously.

Tickets for the superbowl last night were from 7K - 44K, £20 still should be plenty
