Baltimore Bridge

Such a horrific thing to happen.
It collapsed so quickly after the ship hit it.
Had it been on a tv film I might have said that it was obviously a toy one made to look like a real one, a bit like the dam in The Dambusters film.

In all seriousness I read something earlier by a structural engineer that every section of the design of that bridge relies on the integrity of the rest of the bridge, one part fails and the rest is likely to fail apparently

Sounds like the ship shouldn't have set sail as it was having numerous electrical problems

This is not to make light of what has just happened ...........

''A container ship struck a major bridge in Baltimore early Tuesday, causing it to plunge into the river below. From 1960 to 2015, there were 35 major bridge collapses worldwide due to ship or barge collision, with a total of 342 people killed, according to a 2018 report from the World Association for Waterborne Transport Infrastructure. Eighteen of those collapses happened in the United States.

A list of notable disasters involving ships or barges hitting bridges in the U.S.:

Putin and the FSB say the Captain of the ship was Zelensky

And Trump says it would never have happened if he was still President.
