I can never understand why people feel the need to leave early, it happens at every game. Is it really that important to beat the traffic when you could miss something crucial? Even more bewildering last night people were leaving their seats on 40 minutes to presumably queue for refreshments and guess what - they missed the most important feature of all, our match winning goal!

I hear you but I live in Hertfordshire and to edge ahead of the traffic for me is quite important.

I did stay until the end last night mind you.

I don’t know why we have to police what other supporters do. I stayed till the end because I was walking to the train station. My mate left slightly early because he had to wait 40 minutes to get out the car park and had work early the next day. So what?

Individual choices yes, but I don’t understand it unless it is absolutely essential to catch a last train perhaps.

How often does something vital happen in those last minutes?  You wouldn’t leave the cinema before a film ends? 

You wouldn’t “not finish” with your date because you had to leave early for work next day?

By all means move around the stands to be closer to the exits for a quicker getaway..

it shames me to admit I once left early, when it went to 0-4 against  Morecombe.  nothing to do with traffic,  I was just so p1ssed off. That was the trough of over 2 years of sh1te , but , watching last night,  we are definitely on the rise again.

It’s their prerogative. I very rarely leave a game early but it’s their money and their time, and they’re not hurting anyone so can do what they want.

I don’t understand people who let a defeat ruin their whole weekend but equally I wouldn’t tell them how they should feel.

I jave left early, as in a few mins before the end once Ipswich 0-6 pissing it down with rain and had to drop my car off at my friends to go in for service at his garage and still only got home 10mins or so less than normal because the A1 S was closed and had to use M1

I left two games early twice in the eighties around the 85th minute mark. Transpired I needn’t have as the cervix was still only at 6cm when I got to the ward.

One thing I will never understand, is people not understanding that people can do as they like. I treat it as any other recreational activity and I leave when I’ve had enough, Morecambe at home I think I was out with half an hour to go. I realise some people think this is a cardinal sin but of this seasons 17 losses I think I’ve only missed 1 so I have a decent grip for when we are getting nothing from a game.

Leave early or stay till the end, personal choice I guess and like I said just an observation.

Your observation was just that , but really not worth a comment as it didn’t reflect the reasons  why supporters may have to leave early but only a negative opinion of supporters and their  failure to show you a full uninterrupted backing in-spite of circumstance!

I left after 30 minutes of the Stockport game as I had a medical emergency. I had an emergency need to get shit faced as quickly as possible to destroy my short-term memory before it became written into my long-term memory and did me serious mental harm.

We left the moment the whistle went to end the first half and managed to be sat in Good Comps to see final scores on tv.
Got reports after that the 2nd half was worse.
One of the wisest decisions I've made in my life.

It was Boxing Day 1994 and we lost 2-0.
That makes my decision even wise! my life.
