Keepmoat/Eco record
« on April 21, 2024, 10:48:20 am by Dutch Uncle »
We have now won our last 8 home league games on the bounce. While the club record of 11 in 1934-35 is still a few games away, it is however our longest run of league wins at the Keepmoat/Eco Power stadium (previous best 6 in 2016-17)

Well done to the team and 12th man  :scarf:

What a service Dutch provides to us all. Sat in his Amsterdam (?) bunker churning out killer facts like a perpetual motion machine.

Many thanks CBCB, much appreciated. I have now left said bunker (in The Hague btw) and built a suitable man cave in Bangor County Down

But without doubt, John Coyle, aka the Red Baron is true king of Rovers stattos. I am fortunate to be in contact and  use much of his data

Now that’s the sort of data I can live with!

So a technicality here. Question.
If we win our 1st 4 home games next season does that count as breaking our home record.
It would be over 2 seasons not 1
Just thought I would throw a possible spanner in there DU.

Good question Camps. Have recently had this conversation with Red Baron, and the answer is yes it would be a record.

In Rothman's/Sky annuals record sections it gives for example the longest unbeaten run in the Premiership as 49 games for Arsenal from May 2003 to October 2004, spanning two seasons. There is a separate record for Arsenal with 'Longest unbeaten sequence in a season' of the 38 games of 2003-04. Similarly Huddersfield are credited with the longest unbeaten run in the EFL with 43 from Jan 2011 to Dec 2011 which also spans two seasons. In the club section many clubs are credited with records stretching over more than one season. Also google searches find records spread over multiple seasons, especially Chelsea home unbeaten at home in PL for 86 games over five seasons (21 February 2004 - 26 October 2008)

Our own longest unbeaten home run is 33 games over three seasons: the last 11 games of 1931-32, the 21 games unbeaten in 1932-33 and the first home game of 1933-34.

No cup matches or play-off  matches count in league runs. If we were to reach the playoffs and lose our home semi we would still have a shot at breaking the record next season.
