well - absolute dogshite, Rovers - but that last move ending with Sterry's poor cross at least showed a glimmer of a more thoughtful approach; obviously not out of this by a long way, as long as Crewe don't start the second half the same way they did the first; time to earn your money now, McCann...

Need the next goal early for rovers and start the 2nd half like we ended the 1st and get some Crewe defenders booked

Need to pass and move rather than just hit it long

Haven’t played this poorly for ages, positive is that half will have taken a lot out of Crewe.

I think it now just comes down to either a) character or b) some individual piece of brilliance.

Have we got either?

Well. Crewe are a good team. Obviously they were going to come and throw everything at us. Poor defending for the first, ref missed the shirt being pulled off Ironside’s back. But poor.

Second goal - own goal. But totally in the run of play. Crewe have played really well that half but should be down to 10 men. Nevitt should have received a straight red for grabbing Craig round the neck and flinging him to the ground. That w@nker left a foot in on TLT in the first leg… Definitely one to target as he’s a hot head.

We started coming back into it the last 15.

Grant and Cliff will tell them what’s what having looked at how Crewe are set up.

Expect to see us step it up significantly second half.

Keep the faith. Full house. And the lads will want to prove they’re worth turning up to see every week.

Ref seems to be letting a lot go. There is so much holding at corners from both teams.

Or cashing in on what we're owed by officials over the season. Red card for them, or pen for us.

annoyingly one-sided use of the 'railway' theme when referring to Crewe on sky comms, have they no idea of Donny's heritage in the whole train thing, huh ???

Just got in from work in time to see the last 10 mins - Sky pundits at HT say Crewe have done nowt since the second goal.

On another day Haks' effort goes in, as does Rowe's header.  Very much still in this.

As for someone commenting on folks already booking travel for Wembley, yes it was a gamble but I can afford to lose the parking fee.

well - it's at times like this that I clasp my twenty five year old, never-washed Rovers scarf to my bosom, take a deep breath, stare heavenwards - and give thanks to booking.com's no quibble refund guarantee for hotel bookings...

Can we actually take a throw in towards the goal instead of going back all the time

We've hardly created one decent chance have we? A few half chances and a few misplaced passes at the wrong time, but real chances?

I'm starting to really worry....

i think it was what pundits like to refer to as a 'coming together' - quite good in the bedroom, not so clever in the penalty area when it's one of yours being sat on his arse  ;)

we look really short-handed going forward - is someone just having an absolutely horrific game and pretty much disappeared from view or what - I can't work out what's going on - where's all the expansive football gone...
