What an embarrassment that was.

Win the Euros. Are we having a laugh or what.
Crikey hope we have got that out of our system and it fires them up to perform once the competition starts.

Rightly so, I know it's a friendly but the culture of this team under the clown Southgate is pathetic. Can't wait to get him gone, I've never felt so flat before a tournament. I was more excited in 94 and we weren't even there.

Not watched it but not 1 player will risk injury a week or so from a major tournament, it’s just game and team time.

Not many teams will want to play us.

Really poor performance. Walking pace at times and the quality of our deliveries into the box was atrocious overall.

Let's hope this is quickly forgotten next week...

Difficult to put into words how poor England were tonight against Iceland but probably fair to assume that they’d have lost to Sainsbury’s also.

Dunk injured before the game!

That was absolutely dismal. All these so-called superstars, yet another’golden generation’ and we serve up that! Disgraceful.

Zero intensity and, if they didn’t want to play, for fear of injury, then why organise the game in the first place? Hopefully, this is Southgate’s last stand.

Our only saving grace is that Bellingham might show up when the tournament starts!

Reminded me so much of the last Iceland game. No plan B and no one stepping up so everyone to blame for me. Defence now a real worry. Starting to feel a bit of a fool for defending GS for so long.

My wife (bless her) said “England are on terrestrial tonight love, would you want to watch it?”.

Didn’t know who we were playing (until she told me), I never watch qualifying games let alone friendlies for the simple reason I don’t want to watch England play ‘push over games’, why would I?

I know all the bloody players so let’s get down to the ‘nitty gritty’ before anyone should be pulling their hair out!

England are always rubbish in friendlies, esp friendlies before a tournament. It's a disgrace how the FA have the nerve to charge people to watch them.

We've had our best 2 tournament in my lifetime under this manager. A defeat in a game that means nothing a week before the real thing and people are slating the manager saying he's crappie and what not. Folk need to get a grip. We ate already players down in Key positions so you was never going to see a high tempo game. We will be there or there abouts imo come the real thing

Think people need to calm down and see that game for what it is. Purely to keep fitness in check. Judge them on performances in Germany, not on a friendly schedule a week before it starts.

That game was crying out for a substitute who could change a game. Someone like Jack Grealish!!  Oops forgot, he isn't good enough is he.  :headbang: :headbang:

Totally and tactically inept.

Was it a surprise how Iceland set up and played against us? We looked like a bunch of strangers going through the motions.

Smacks of poor preparation, selection and execution. All the things that need to be rehearsed before a major tournament.

Can't help but think Gareth is suffering from even more brain fog and is just hoping for the best.

Biggest problem was the insane perseverance on tippy happy balls round the box, walker could have crossed a 100 times but no, pass it back again and again.  Did we have a single shot from outside the box?  The crowd was screaming for someone to shoot!!!! AAARRGGHH!!!!

Because people are daft enough to pay extortionate prices to watch England play in friendly matches.

Only ever went to one friendly when Capello was manager. Never again.

Chill Winston. We beat Germany 5 1 pre tournament and yet we were shite in that tournament that followed. The Argies lost to Saudi yet won the world cup. It's a friendly that nobody really cares about at a ground with the world's worst atmosphere.

Come on dickos. Do you think that was acceptable last night?
The population of Iceland is 350.000 that’s only 40.000 more than DMBC population.
We have managed to lose to them twice in 8 yrs against them.
We had 2 shots on target in 95 mins.

Why people pay good money to travel, buy tickets and all the other costs involved to watch England play in friendlies against minnow countries is beyond me.
Brazil, Argentina, France, Germany, Italy, Spain I can see the attraction but seriously do people think they are going to see an entertaining game against Iceland or their likes.
It’s obvious they are going to get 10 men behind the ball for 85 out of 95 mins and damage limitation is the object of the exercise. Especially when they get an early goal of course.
That’s not entertainment it’s attrition imo.  Rather watch paint dry.

Because you get points which make it easier to get tickets for tournaments. Sadly because we always play at Wembley it southerner/cockney biased but of course that's the way the UK is as we know
