This isn’t good enough.  Lose today and it’s time up for Southgate IMHO.  Doesn’t matter what he’s achieved in previous tournaments, his selections this time have been questionable to say the least..

They can’t even sort the subs properly..

Unreal.we have a shot and we score

Not rocket science is it.

He is the luckiest manager on the planet. That goal was not down to his subs was it or lack of them.

This is so painful being an England supporter. It really should not be like this.

Take Kane off and put someone up front with a bit of pace.

Agreed..  can’t just keep him on for penalties.  Toney, as much as I disliked him at Peterborough, will bring a goal threat and takes a decent penalty too..

you forgot about him throwing himself on the floor when he played for Barnsley

Great penalties.. cannot fault 5 out of 5.

Somehow England have reached the semi final.  Surely that will inspire more confidence in the team.?

Delighted with the result..

Something about this team...  it's ... quality when needed, last two games. We've never seen this before, we would have folded before.

Yes but let’s be honest Lady Luck is on our side.
Switzerland were a goal post/ cross bar from winning it.

Maybe this is going to be our year at last. Just wish GS would be more pro active in making changes when they are needed.

No. Its not luck. Bellingham's over head kick is not luck. 5 perfect penalities is not luck. It's quality above our opponents.

Saka man of the match for me, both attacking and defensively.

Luck ? You get lucky once or twice not a hole tournament. We played better today imo but still not at our best yet. Each game we are looking better. We are by gar the best team without the ball and don't concede many. Trouble is we don't score many and that's the problem. Fans want to see goals. Southgate has shown faith tweaked here and there and he has got us to another semi. Just got to get more goals and we could win thus.

Put it this way, if I fancy a bit of “sexy time” I could take myself upstairs for ten minutes with a decent wifi connection and a box of Kleenex.  Alternatively I could pop a blue pill and enjoy a couple of hours with two special friends.

Either way, the final result is the same for me.  Nice to have some enjoyment getting there though.!!

You know what I mean.
The fact is we only had 2 shots on target in 125 mins.
Yes we won and that the object of the exercise but wow let’s be honest we were not great in that 2nd half.
We looked very flat and we needed subs on at 60 mins at 0-0 not on 78 mins when we are 1-0 down.

Would be great if we could beat France in the final. I think we owe them one after the World Cup defeat.

Got to beat Holland or Turkey first. Fancy Holland to win tonight.

Interesting interviews from the players saying how well we played. Not sure the majority on here agreee but wonder if thats a statement from them that they liked the tactical switch.

In all honesty, I thought their goal was lucky, it's gone through Konsa's legs and Stones is a nats cock away from getting a decent touch on it. The defense up until that point were virtually faultless. Our defense is so impressive, Konsa replaced Geuhi to the same standard.

Just about the easiest penalty shoot out experience I've ever had with club or country .

I figured when it went to penalties we'd probably get through based on playing like pre programmed robots it would come in mightily handy .

There's no much emotion in this team which may well have been our undoing over the years .

It's a hard watch , pretty difficult , about as exciting as going bird watching with Keir Starmer .

Thing is the fact it's so unEngland like is why we might win the bloody thing .

Vastly improved performance. I thought we were better than them overall.

No team except Spain has shown much so far, so it's still anybody's to win.

Agree SS but Pickford had more work to do than Sommer. We were very flat most of that 2nd 45 mins imo.

It's not luck but somehow doing the bare minimum of attacking play, but also being very wasteful when getting into decent positions. Saka scored with the one decent contact he had all game, although he was more positive, his deliveries were woeful. Bellingham did bugger all again.

At best, you could say we were disciplined  but it's the same formula of refusing to do the obvious with subs until we're forced to.

We were marginally better than previous games but there's so much more we could do better.

couldn't agree more. It's the most comfortable we have been imo bar the goal. Let's hope we are growing into the tournament as we have a good side on paper and I'd hate to look back in years to come seeing the likes of Foden, kane,J Bellingham winning titles and champ league  medals but nothing at national level. These players should be winning tournaments at national level. When we kick fully we could take some stopping. We also have very good options to bring In. How palmer isn't starting is criminal. Who do you leave out. Ate we better bringing him on with 20 to 25 mind and maybe extra time?
