Alan Hansen

Reportedly very ill in hospital. I hope he recovers because he was an incredible footballer and a magnificent & knowledgeable pundit who would knock spots of today’s so called experts eg Neville & Carragher. When he spoke he was always interesting and insightful, never bland. In my opinion he had the best analysis of any pundit Iin Match of the Day history.

And part of the very best centre back pairing in my, now long, lifetime. He and Lawrenson were incomparable. And both were/are intelligent, lucid and incisive in their thinking too - which made them top notch pundits. I too hope he gets better soon.

I wish him nothing but a full recovery from whatever he is ‘suffering’.

I seem to have ‘grown up’ with Alan as a player & the best of football pundits.

A giant of a centre back, a giant of a man.

My very best thoughts are with him & his family.

I played at Hillside Golf Club a lot of years ago and Hansen and Dalgleish were in the group in front of us.
They were members there.
In the clubhouse afterwards they were very chatty and happy to have us join them for a drink.
The conversation was not boring at all.
Heres’ hoping that Hansen recovers from whatever ailment he has.

I used to love listening to his analysis on motd, spoke a lot of sense. Brilliant footballer, even though he played for Liverpool.

No "even though" about it.

Great players play for great teams.

Quite right, have a look at which team tops the "all time league tables"

Wishing AH a full recovery.
