Colchester (h)

We play Colchester at home 3rd last game of the season. This time we should send them done, sweet revenge for last game of the 98 season at OBV. Some of their fans mocking and bragging at our expense.

It's already been done, Les. We pumped them twice last season.

I was there and on the pitch, that is something I didn't see. ?

I don’t remember that either. Was a long time ago mind. My memory of that day aside from the misery was Radio 1 DJ Steve Lamack in the Park Hotel pre-match.

There was a group of ColU lads in OBV main stand standing at the front in line with the drinks kiosk. I think they were off their heads,  mocking and jeering at Rovers fans, so much so a copper had to have a word about their behaviour.

A strange grudge to hold for more than a quarter of a century.

(FWIW) This is Colchester's subsequent record v Rovers in Doncaster since that day:

Played 8
Won 0
Drawn 2
Lost 6
For 2
Against 11
Points 2 (from a possible 24)

Nice to know we are bogey team to them.

It was a case of. them. getting promoted and us relegated and they were gloating far too much and in our faces.

Time to let it lie les. We’ve been mocked by ‘better supporters’ in the past 26 years & been able to do a bit of mocking ourselves along the way!
