Dundalk play Drogheda United tonight - they are bottom of the league..... one place above Dundalk.  Looks like Bobby is playing at CB tonight...

Surely you mean one place below.?? :chair:

You're right..... and have passed my pedant test.

Played well again given a 7 point 4 on flash score the top defender score won his headers and tackles in what is a physical league and got another meaningful 90 minutes and not on a great pitch according to Bobby.
Played right side this week and looked a good partnership with a different player who also looked good and were the bedrock of the win really.
From the games I have watched everything looks hurried especially in midfield and 90% of passes are direct forward, very little side to side as played over here, 90 mile an hour stuff and nobody gets a lot of time on the ball,
He needs to keep it going now, he has had a good start and is looking a main man if they are to have a chance getting up the table, let's hope he can do so.

He played left side and Flashscore ratings aren’t worth a carrot.

Think I only saw about 5 fans wearing football shirts how do you I.d fans of other clubs, could end up fighting your own fans, seems a stupid thing to do on the pitch with cameras everywhere, then again probably not up there of the brainiest of the population

Gaz, I watched the match and have talked to Bobby, Mayowu Animasahun lined up  left side  central defender last night, and Bobby was detailed by the manager to stay the more central of the two, as any good defender does when required to cover down a flank he did so with most of Drogheda's attack channeled down the left he played the cover man on that side when needed.
And both me and his father thought he was a good seven out of ten, and the 7 point five was posted on the flash score against his name at the end of the game.
It is not very often I look at Flash Score but did last night at the end of the game and it was the first time I have noticed their individual scores out of ten for players. In this case I thought it about spot on not being an expert that is.

That’s weird. Just watched 8minutes of highlights and he was on the left every time he was shown. Every heat map I have seen shows his touches down the left.

Dundalk started with a back 4 but the fullbacks were playing real high, Drogheda favoured the right side when attacking so Bobby was covering the left a lot.

A poor team performance tonight with hardly any football played by any side and a referee that made it even worse.
Bobby a good 7 again probably the stand out player for Dundalk in a game Drogheda set out to spoil from the first few minutes with a referee that missed free kicks playing a big part twice in Drogheda's second goal which very much should have been a free kick to Dundalk.
He shoved forward the last few minutes and scored with a good header  over the keeper from 12 yards, and has always been a danger in the oppositions box.
So a bad result but other than interest because he is there the interest is in his third 90 minutes injury free, and another decent personal game, 3 little mistakes but otherwise his sides stand out defender, and because they are poor he is in the thick of it for most of the game.
It was a cup game and he was hoping to win to get more games in while there, but now it is all about survival for a poor side in which he has become one of very few players to give them some hope of staying up.

He played well in the cup game and was on the end of most crosses into the box , including the one that he scored from in the opposition box in extra time .A battler and moreover he plays the ball positively forwards not sidewards  or backwards .

Yes he was booked deservedly for a tactical foul when he let his man get the wrong side one of his three mistakes to me, unfortunate in a way as it was a game of multiple tactical fouls by both sides but one with a cut bandaged head was a repeat offender, and the Drogheda keeper must have totted up over ten minutes just time wasting and taking goal kicks.
It must have been very frustrating for Dundalk who were denied a clear penalty holding a shirt for four yards in the box and a shove in the back at the end of it waved away.
And the second goal a clear foul on a Dundalk player on the edge of the box given the complete wrong way and hoofed up field a player rugby tackled and it ends up in the net.
The referee was atrocious, the standard of play not great, but a hundred miles an hour and with a referee ruled by the moon it was entertaining.
It is a good loan for Bobby, he is getting a lot of action, playing well himself, is well thought of, and has got better with the game time after a long lay off and his confidence in himself is back.

Spot quiz. Can you name two other former Doncaster players who played for Dundalk? In fact, one of them is still with them but currently out injured.

(There may be more than two, but there's two I can think of).
